I recently became a Rob Lowe fan last year, so of course, I had to read his memoir. I really enjoyed reading about his childhood, getting into acting, and the behind the scenes of his movies and shows. I do wish he got more in depth with certain things, some topics felt a little glossed over. But overall, a great read and insight into his life.

I was reluctant to read this book after my initial impression of him during the West Wing era, but like all other autobios, I gave his audiobook a shot, and that gave me even further insight than I had back then. I understood the primadonna persona is not necessarily what he intends, but ultimately it's what he has blindly embraced. The audio is so worth it for his various impressions of all the characters he's met throughout his long Hollywood career, and it also allowed me to read between the lines due to his inflections and tones over the retelling of his career highs and lows. He chose the high road often, diverting from low points by waxing philosophical or jumping quickly to the next great achievement. Anybody wanting any major dirt on his Brat Pack days or the sex tape fiasco will not find it here. He's accepted and moved on, knowing it's a part of his life, but not the life he now leads - always moving forward, never looking back - keeping the self-deprecation and humor fully intact for the next adventure.

Really beautiful memoir. Lowe is a great writer who writes with grace and vulnerability. I loved this one.

I didn't use to like Rob Lowe. I always thought he seemed so arrogant. But as the years pass, and his roles change, I'm liking him more and more. His soothing voice narrating the audiobook version was a great addition, especially his voices for famous people such as Andy Warhol and Cary Grant.

Fabulously Honest!

Rob did a great job of sharing the highs and lows of being an actor, of being an alcoholic (easy to do in the day and age we grew up in), and of being in a loving relationship. I have been a big fan of Rob's since the Brat Pack days, into the West Wing. Live your life to the fullest, Rob! Enjoy your family and your kids. Thanks for sharing your story with us. It did feel like you were telling us stories, as if we were your friends.
