First five star read of the year. I’ve wanted to read Stephen King’s debut for a while now, and it blew my mind right from the very beginning. The writing is so descriptive, visceral, you can feel everything. A truly amazing book.

Read this with my partner for Halloween 🎃 First Stephen King book! Glad I got to finally read this classic horror novel. I enjoyed the different perspectives and article clippings in the novel and chilling writing. However, found the sexist and fatphobic descriptions of characters and racist language frustrating to read.
