I knew the book had a twist, so I did catch on about halfway through. There are little hints here and there, but I could see how it’d come as a surprise if you’re not looking for it!

I cried 😭

I'm glad I finished this book because I can finally say I read it, though it was just okay. The number of characters introduced in the first chapter was overwhelming. This is my third book by Rebecca Yarros, and it seems like she often includes a lot of information at once.

The unexpected twist at the end was surprising and emotional, but I moved on quickly, which personally meant it didn't fully satisfy me.

I enjoyed Scarlett and Jameson's love story, but Noah and Georgia's relationship felt forced.

To be honest, I might revise this review later, as I'm starting to feel more disappointed than okay.

A well written romance with some unexpected twists. The love between Scarlett and Jameson and Georgia and Noah is beautifully written and each fit within their own era. And whilst romantic love is the focus of the book, the love (or sometimes lack there of) between family and friends is just as significant and well written.

I enjoyed the dual perspectives from both different characters and time periods. I did not see the ending coming which did not disappoint for either Scarlett and Jameson or Georgia and Noah.

I had multiple friends tell me to read this book. It was definetly one they knew I would love. And I hate them so much for putting me through this emotional sob fest. If I could give more stars, I would. Read it. If you like historical romance, read it. If you are a crier, you will cry. Sob even. Ugly cry.

Loved this one. I liked all the characters and the growth they had as well as their stories. Really well written.

Jameson’s and Scarlet’s story was beautiful and the emotion so well conveyed. It was easy to identify with them and the difficult choices they had to continually make.

Georgia’s and Noah’s story was a great modern day romance that struggled against past hurts but still lived selflessly even at times when one rejected the other.

Also, did not see the twist at the end coming. Loved that part of it that surprised me. Really well done.
