This book was amazing! The storyline, while confusing in places, has to be some of the most well planned and thought out plot that I have read in a long while.

Caraval was a book that I was so hyped up about that I was actually hesitant reading it, in case it ended up disappointing me while I was reading it. Instead, some of the twists and turns in the book made me more and more curious as to who legend is, what the clues were for, and how the heck can this really end well for Scarlett. I have not been so invested in a fantasy world to the point of having so many questions going through my head like this, and to be honest, I really loved that!

I seriously can't wait to read the second book in this series, and I am really interested in seeing more of the sister's POV, which hopefully will have more of Legend and his Caraval!

Scarlett, baby. Leave everyone on this island and go start your life alone. They don't deserve you.

A delightful read for some easy, swashbuckling downtime. Not very meaty in terms of some of the development of characters and story, but again I was really in it to give me a break. 3 stars is about the best a beach read could ever get from me, so consider it a recommendation for light and fun reading and less of a recommendation for someone who wants really deep, thoughtful works of literature.

4.25

I gave this book a 4.25 because the book's plot twisted and turned in ways I never thought while having a variety of complex characters.

Although it was not a five-star for me, it was beautifully written and entertaining, but some of the events in the book confused me until the end of the book. Personally, I would like to see more in-depth explanations of some of the events that occurred. I sat through and read this book in one sitting and enjoyed its plot advancement and confusing characters to dissect.

This book is definitely plot-driven, but it is fun to read for people who like multi-dimensional characters to analyze. Overall, the book is great for someone who loves a fast-moving yet unexpected plot with aspects that include fantasy, mystery, and slight hints of romance.

I really enjoyed this book! My one, and unfortunately big, problem was the lack of world building. I wanted to know much much more about the world this story is set in. It sounds intriguing... but luckily the story is a very compelling one that definitely had me speed reading through the book.
