The easy friendship and chemistry between Brooke and her editor Chase keeps you turning each page, eager to see when on this motor home Netflix series road tour they’ll both tell each other how they truly feel. A very slow burn that is worth the wait.

This is a fun read. She's a little quirky and due to a medical issue, somewhat awkward at times (mostly when she's in the presence of her crush,) but she's also got spirit and spunk. He is literally book boyfriend material. Perfect in just about every way. So there's no possible way he would be interested in her, right? This is a slow burn (no smexy time until the last 20%,) forced proximity, Captain America in canine form, RVing road trip, fantastic side characters, plenty of laughs, and one heck of a Dedication. This book was easy to read and hard to put down. It gets your attention right off the bat, and holds it until the very end. It's well written and you can really feel what the characters are feeling. There are also a few 'Easter Eggs' throughout if you are familiar with the authors other books. ;) There is some sexual content (as mentioned above, not until later in the book,) so it's not all about the physical. It's also the girl who 'was in the wrong' when they had the inevitable break-up, and the fact that they both had some grand gesture make-up moves, it just goes to show just how perfect he is. Now if only we can clone him. :D I know I've mentioned how perfect his character is, but hers isn't really far off. She's a breath of fresh air. After a rough start, she makes the most of an uncomfortable situation, despite her medical troubles, which could have made things even worse for her. It alternates between POVs. I wanna say this is more suited for mature readers, but with the limited amount of that sexual content, I'd hate for some of those slightly younger readers to miss out on a great story, so...

Witty, charming, and with quite a few laugh-out-loud moments, Accidental Attachment was a breath of fresh air.

I loved Brooke's humor and her heart. Brooke is self-deprecating, clever, funny, and a tad insecure. She was dynamic in her complexity and utterly relatable. I also live with a chronic condition, and seeing how Brooke approaches her Syncope along with Benji-her superhero of a dog-made me relate to her character on a level that I don't usually find with most fictional characters (or even real people). I also really liked how much vulnerability Brooke has in wearing her heart on her sleeve. She loves without reservation and I found that to be absolutely endearing.

Our hero of the story, Chase Dawson, was a great character. He was vulnerable and kind and I loved his admiration of Brooke as an author and as a woman.

One of my favorite parts of the story took place toward the end and pulled a few tears from this readers eyes-I was not expecting that for a rom com, but that goes to show how great this story was at getting to the heart of these characters.

I hope that Sam-Brooke's sister-is the star of the next book! I loved her and Brooke's relationship and how they supported one another when they were in their own arduous situations.

If you like a contemporary romance with mutual pining, close proximity, a unique heroine, a hero who appreciates all aspects of the heroine's personality, and a wonderful canine sidekick who has a superhero wardrobe to envy, then this just may be the book for you!

Note regarding the audiobook: The audiobook was narrated by CJ Bloom and Joe Arden. They did a fantastic job and I would read a book narrated by them any day-it is hard to find audiobook narrators that flow well and exude the personalities of the characters they are reading while keeping the reader 100% engaged.

I read and reviewed an advanced copy of this audiobook thanks to Max Monroe via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Accidental Attachment, how much do I love thee?? Let me count the ways...

1) Chase is the perfect cinnamon roll love interest. He's kind, compassionate, and always makes sure Brooke is comfortable no matter the situation and no matter how UNcomfortable it might make him.

2) Brooke's internal monologue made me pee my pants from laughing so hard. The fact that she's never quite sure whether she actually spoke the bizarre thoughts is just icing on the comedic cake.

3) THE CAMEOS!!! This book is meta and I love it! I felt like the meme of Leo sitting in the recliner, pointing at his TV every time a character from another book popped up.

4) Wilson Phillips. Enough said.

5) Forced proximity. Friends to lovers. Slow burn. Forbidden fruit. Fan-fic. An assistant named Dawn. "Average" equipment. The list goes on.

My one complaint? I need more info on Glenn! Who is he?? What's with the liquid?? ::cue Sheldon meme:: I need answers!

Basically, Accidental Attachment is the perfect rom-com and all other romances will have to live up to its epicness. I'm new to Max Monroe's work but have steadily binged them over the last few weeks. This book has the humor you've come to expect plus so much more! While there is spice, it's a much smaller part of the book than usual. The development of the relationship is what took up most of the book, and it makes you fall in love with the characters even more!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Brooke made me laugh and Chase was pretty swoony. I knew what the 3rd act break up would be, and it took a long time for Chase and Brooke come together. The narrator did a phenomenal job. All in all, it is a good story but it needed to be shorter.

This book guaranteed in the Author's Note that I would be an incredible fan of the story. No wait it claimed I would be so much of a fan I would be the whole damn air conditioner.

It lied.

I struggled reading Brooke and Chase (or their literary counterparts of River and Clive)'s story. I didn't understand why Chase kept saying Brooke's book was the best book ever written. Why it was going to change the world. Why it was so earth shatteringly epic. Cause from the excerpts given it was just... a workplace romance. Which I've read many and this one didn't stand out. I found the characters not overly endearing and found it hard to be overly invested in their story. He was just a smitten kitten.

I didn't find it hilarious or any of the other claims in the author's note. I wanted to like it. The blurb had me believing that this was going a book I would fall for. But I was just left cold. I was irritated by the characters and found it to be long winded. I didn't really need to hear all about Chase's Sunday afternoon walkabout though NYC and how he then went grocery shopping near his sister's penthouse. IT was unnecessary and chapters like that made the entire story drag a lot.

Also I'm still waiting to get to the bottom of the mysterious liquids Chase's roommate was leaving by his bedroom door.
