Thanks to the author, Carolyn Leiloglou @housefullofbookworms, I was given an advance copy, and we just loved it! I read this aloud to my 5 year old daughter, but my son who is 8 quickly hopped on the couch and listened too. This book is slightly longer than the Cam Jansen series, but similar in reading level and number of illustrations, plus it's well written, funny, and had a quirky mystery element. This is the first book in a new series, and since we finished reading it a few days ago, my daughter has asked every day when the next book will be out!

This is a great early chapter book for emerging readers!

Noah is a future zoo-keeper whose parents don’t want her to have a dog. When she finds a small animal (what they think is a guinea pig) for sale at a garage sale, they agree to let her buy it.
As the animal grows and grows, they begin the journey of finding out what species it is. Noah finds out, much to her dismay, on a trip to the zoo.
Of course, the day is saved and Noah is a real hero for her mystery animal and many more!

I read an advanced copy of this book and am proud to give a glowing review. Fun series to come!

Oh, this book...super sweet and wonderful for your young readers. Noah wants a dog, really a pet of any kind, but her parents are strongly opposed for many reasons. I could picture my own kids as the main character (they also desperately want a pet). This book does what it sets out to do, providing an engaging, sweet story for new readers. It also offers up an opportunity to dig deeper into animals if that sparks an interest. I personally can't wait for Noah's next adventure! I revived an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

What kind of animal did Noah buy at the garage sale? She solves the mystery in this delightful early chapter book that my 6-year-old twin boys and I enjoyed reading together.
