Synopsis: The Thursday Murder Club investigates the murder of a friend while also dealing with personal life complications and loss. I hesitate to say much more for fear of leaking spoilers.

Review: As usual, this is a wonderfully written cozy mystery. Apart from the mystery, Osman writes about dementia & end-of-life decisions beautifully and with such compassion & grace!

Content warnings: death, gun violence, murder, dementia, suicide/assisted suicide, violence, drugs, incarceration, gangs,

Such a beautiful book full of wonderful, developed characters. All of the Thursday Murder Club books have so much character development, but that felt especially prominent in this book, while still having plenty of interesting plot and mystery.

This murder mystery series has so much heart.

As always with The Thursday Murder Club, the book had plenty of light, humorous moments, but was also very touching. It has been a very long time since a book has made me sob the way I sobbed at this.

I can’t believe it took me so long to start reading this series, but am glad that it meant I could jump from one book straight into the next, devouring all four books in less than a month. I was so glad to read that Richard Osman is planning two more Thursday Murder Clubs, but I don’t want to wait!

Maybe my favorite Thursday Murder Club yet. It tugged on my heart strings more than the others and was a bit more serious with fewer laughs. I just love these characters so, so much!

Oh man, this one made me cry like a baby. I love that we're getting to follow this wonderful group throughout not only murder and mayhem but also meaningful life events.

So I've ended up sort of binge-reading the last 50% of this book in 1 day, which is highly unusual for me, and really a testament to how well written it is. I'm still processing it all really, but the main thing I want to get down right now, is that this book made me laugh out loud, cry, and feel so moved. I love the characters so much, and the murder-mystery part of the plot kept me guessing and on my toes throughout.
as someone who has experience with losing a grandparent to alzheimers, the storyline of Stephen and Elisabeth coping with his steadily declining dementia really got to me. It was so beautifully and tenderly written. I am also experiencing a lot of grief right now in my life, and there were many lines throughout this book that really spoke to me and made me feel seen. I just really appreciate the timing of when this book has entered my life. It feels somewhat serendipitous.

Already looking forward to meeting these characters again in future books, they feel like old friends to me now. 😭💜
