Space Opera. Race with a bunch of scruffy-looking adventurers. Some greater understanding of the diverse groups that make up this empire are slightly explored, but it's more about how these heirs to the empire grow. Also, lots of shock and betrayal at the end. Comes with a cliffhanger. Thankfully second book.

Okay, the thing is, I just didn’t care about the plot all that much. It was thrilling but it didn’t pull me with it.
The characters were amazing though and I found to love so many of them. They pulled me through the book and I ended up caring a lot about them. And especially space monkey proved once again that himbos are the best.

Holy crap, this was phenomenal. I picked it up on a whim and really didn't expect to love it as much as I did. It was fast-paced and engaging, and I could not stop thinking about it. I'm so excited to pick up the next book!
