This book took my breath away. I do not condone cheating in any shape or form... until this book.

The characterization, inner monologues of what the characters are feeling, and dialogue kept me enthralled. Numerous times I found myself thinking "I would have said that!!!"

Stylo Fantome has a gift when it comes to a distinct style, voice, and how she sets not only a scene but also the overall tone. She is in the top three authors that I eagerly await and plan my schedule accordingly because I know I am going to have a book hangover come the morning after I start one of her books. She makes me happy that I am pursuing a degree in Literature and writing.

Someday I hope to be of the same caliber of writing and hope to be able to reach the melillfluous sublime of Stylo Fantome.

I had the pleasure of receiving an ARC of this book and OMG. When I grow up, I want to write like Stylo Fantome. Her writing is smooth, flawless; her prose so well-balanced and pure... This is seriously one of the best books I have EVER read. EVER. Normally I'm not one for cheating, but this one intrigued me. I love, love, loved it. I loved Misha... her struggles were as real as they get, her turmoil anguishing. Tal is hot. Seriously sizzling hot. Pure Alpha male who goes after what he wants and won't take no for an answer. Every word of this story rang true to what I imagine people in this situation would feel, go through, and struggle to resolve. Fantastic. Five great big ginormous stars!

I enjoyed this book but I didn't think I would. I love Stylo Fantome. She is incredible and really has talent that just pours out over the pages. While I typically shy away from cheating books, I think sometimes it is healthy to realize not all cheaters are villains. And while it is incredibly easy to point fingers and make judgements, until you are in a passionless marriage or relationship, can you really relate? Well written for a difficult subject.

Wow fantastic read. Love Stylo's writing when i first read about Jameson Kane, and now she gives us Tal. What can I say this book I fell in love with it. Mischa looking for love and finds it in Rome with the mysterious Tal, and the story from there I just could not put it down. 5 stars for me.

I am curious about the direction in which this story will go but the writing style is just too distracting.

This is a story about infidelity. And while I think most of us will agree that cheating is wrong and has no place in a relationship, this story is providing the insight to one woman's life to try and justify her need to be unfaithful to her husband. Mischa is feeling lonely and unloved in her marriage to Michael. She is missing the human connection, feels unloved and not desirable. What I felt was missing in this story was more of the relationship history of these two characters. From what we are told, I felt no real sense of connection from either of them. Making Michael out to be the bad guy and having his character be unlikeable is somehow supposed to excuse her actions. We are to believe that Mischa is this perfect woman with no flaws and Michael is responsible for everything wrong in their marriage.

When on a business trip to Italy Mischa decides this is the perfect time to cheat on her husband. She is only looking for a one night stand but is instead finding herself attracted to more than just the physical connection to Tal, but also emotionally attracted to him. With Tal, she feels confident, beautiful and desired, all the things she says is missing in her marriage.

I really enjoyed this story up until the last few chapters. Throughout the book we are only given little bits of information about Tal. He is very secretive about his past and also to a point, his current life. So when it was revealed what his occupation was, I was not really surprised but it just seemed a little much. Now lets discuss Michael. This was such a huge reason why I lost any sort of connection to this story. The big reveal, if you want to call it that, about Michael was just way too far fetched for me. Again, its like the author is giving us all these reasons to justify the cheating by making the husband be the bad guy. Did they have problems in their marriage, absolutely but I needed to see what role Mischa played in their marriage problems not just Michael.

My Time in the Affair by Stylo Fantome is one woman’s journey to finding herself and learning to live with the choices she’s made in her life. I thought I wasn’t going to like this story. I just knew it was going to hate the main characters. However, Fantome SURPRISED me. I was in all of her telling of Mischa story. I understood her WHY but not her Method. I really enjoyed this story and finished it in a day. This story has action, love, deceit, acceptance, and self-discover.
All of the Characters are likeable and caring. Tal the male lead is HOT, like really HOT!! He seems shut off at times but there’s reason behind his dark and mysteries ways. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that he is great in bed ;). Also, he is caring, understanding, and just a sweetie pie.
Mischa at the beginning of the story comes off as self-loathing and uncaring of her husband feeling. However, we are able to see she cares more about her husband then we first suspect. She is at times like an open book for all to read and judge. However, at other times she holds off and this are the times you want her to scream and yell. Just tell them how you really feel. I felt her pain in those moments.
This story by far is much different from Fantome Kane series but it is hot, captivating, and an eye opening read. I really liked this book and would recommend to others. As long as cheating isn’t a trigger for you.

****I was given an ARC for an honest review.***

Tal is an asshole, and not the hood kind. Pretty sure I have PTSD from him telling her to shut up.
