When I’m Gone by Jessica Grace is her debut novel and WOW! I’m absolutely shocked at how impressed I am with this book.

While reading, I felt like I was on a rollercoaster, despite never being on one. My emotions felt like they were everywhere. And that’s a good thing – I love when books make me actually feel something.

RH books are a favorite of mine, but love triangles… they’re not usually something I enjoyed. When I’m Gone was completely different from what I’m use to with love triangles, though, and made it so much more enjoyable!

Clementine and her boys, Ayden and Beckett, have not had an easy life, which makes them feel even more real. While she loves both boys, her heart only craves one of them. The dynamic between the two boys is interesting – one moment I felt like they were truly friends, like they were ‘supposed’ to be. Then the next, it was very clear that they almost hated one another. At times, both these boys drove me absolutely insane, but I liked them at the same time, for different reasons.

This book felt extremely real and raw. I felt like everything that happened in When I’m Gone could’ve really happened in real life, which is something that I truly enjoy with books. Two of the characters have their story wrapped up in the book, but the other one isn’t complete yet and man am I excited for that one.

Jessica did an amazing job on her first novel – I’m so excited to see what she writes in the future.

Jessica’s debut novel When I’m Gone was an absolute emotional roller coaster of a book and I found myself living for every ounce of angst, pain, and loss experienced by the characters.

While I don’t want to go into detail about this book because everything running through my mind right now is a spoiler. So instead I’ll just say that this is a Love Triangle that didn’t feel like “too much” of a love triangle.

Our heroine Clementine wasn’t flighty or manipulative as some love triangle heroines can be she was just a no nonsense girl who was unwilling to admit the way she was feeling to her best friends.

And as for our leading men I’m going to be even more vague, because again not tryin to spoil anything! B and Ayden are each so unique, but in some ways they are so similar. (Vague enough for y’all

this book isn’t something i would typically pick up for many reasons but i’ve been rooting for jess since i met her so i had to read it.

i loved so many things about this book but the thing i loved most was the rawness of it all and the message.

if you love high angst, high emotions, and a little bit of just plain high, pick this book up!!

Good read

I enjoyed this book immensely. Fans of Molly McAdams will likely love this. I felt mad, happy, angry and fed up. Some things could have been explained better between the characters but all in all it was well worth the read. Definitely not YA.

When I'm Gone is Jessica Grace's debut novel and it's also one of my anticipated reads for this month. I absolutely loved reading this one! And I can easily say that, When I'm Gone happens to be one of my favorite April reads. Normally, I'm not a huge fan of multiple POVs (more than two-three) I find it a bit tiring to keep up.  However, in this storyline it was definitely needed and Jessica Grace did a fantastic job in executing this plot. I'm happy that I had an insight from these characters, to see it from their perspectives.  A read that would get you hooked from the very first page; a storyline that unfolds phenomenally in front of your very eyes. A whirlwind of emotions; Jessica Grace's writing technique heightens all your senses and emotions. I felt like I was right there in that exact moment. A character driven book; an emotional journey of three best friends. A heart felt read; a page turner that will keep you wanting to read more. I highly recommend this book!

In a way, When I'm Gone could be seen as a love triangle. It's multiple POV, narrated from Clementine's, Beckett's and Ayden's perspective. Three best friends, two friends who deeply care about Clementine, but their feelings are more than platonic. And as they grew older, this caused a strain on Beckett and Ayden's friendship. Of course, Clementine isn't aware of this, thinking that it has to do with something else. Clementine was harboring feelings for Beckett for so many years, yet neither of them had made a move, until now. Ayden can see that Clementine and Beckett have feelings for each other, but that doesn't stop his feelings for Clementine. He is hoping that one day she could feel the same way about him. Ayden and Beckett come from different walks of life, yet they can easily relate to one another. Their home living environment is less than perfect. Both of them don't have a great relationship with their fathers and they find solace in Clementine's presence. Clementine has trust and abandonment issues; she doesn't show this very often, when she does this Clementine see it as a sign of vulnerability. Hence besides Ayden and Beckett she doesn't really have any other friends. I don't want to give too many spoilers away, but towards the second half of the book, the turn of events drastically changes Clementine's life. However, you could say that all them were experiencing hardships in their own ways. She turns to Ayden, while she's longing Beckett to be there for her. You'll see a couple of plot twists. Looking forward to reading Addison's (Beckett's sister) book! Cannot wait to read more work from this amazing author!

Three best friends: Clementine, Ayden and Beckett grew up together. They live in the same area, yet Beckett's life is completely different from Clementine's and Ayden's, social status. Yet this doesn't stop them from being good friends. Ayden and Beckett don't really get along with each other. You could say that the main reason they put up with each other is for Clementine sake. Two young man who are deeply in love Clementine. She deeply cares for both of them, yet her heart beats for one; she yearns for his affection.

Literally so much drama at every turn but glad she got who she wanted. Though they didn’t have to ruin the second guys life
