By far the best thus far of the series. There truly is something about the emotionally stunted but previously heartbroken slightly Bad boy trope that just does things to my heart (and other places). I *loved* this story. And the dude voicing Jay???

Jayden and Peyton! Phew! This series just keeps getting better. I'm glad I didn't let book one turn me away. I'm glad I picked it back up after DNF-ing it before. Each book builds a little more with angst, steam, love and hate.

Having never read anything by Anne Jolin before this series, I'm will certainly be trying more from her.

Read for ByoB

This is was my first book by Anne Jolin and it will not be my last, as a matter of fact I need to go back and read the first three books in the series so I feel like I am all caught up on everyone's life. This book can be read as a standalone, but I still felt like I was missing out by not reading the other books in the series.

The book for me could be described by a kiss:

"Timeless.
Vulnerable.
Captivating.
Magical.
Candid."

This installment was about Peyton Callaghan who is hiding from her past and Jayden King who is convinced he already had his one chance at love. Peyton is shy and quiet and she has had a crush on Jayden for some time. Jayden is anything but shy and quiet, he is all alpha but his behavior can sometimes be related to that of a child. When he doesn't get his way, he storms off and acts like a complete jerk. While this is his most frustrating trait it was also his most endearing.

"They say that every man needs a woman when his life is a mess. Because just like in a game of chess, the queen protects the king. If that is the case, I am ready to catch my King and keep him too. Whether he is ready or not."

Due to an accident, Peyton finds herself rooming with Jayden and that is when things really get fun. He is brooding jerk and she is confused patient. Their interactions throughout this book were really enjoyable. I found myself laughing at the things they would say to each other. And I was really rooting for them to figure it out before it was too late. Both of their pasts are tragic and under their outward personalities you find that Jay is big softy and Peyton can be as tough as nails.

The writing was very engaging and even though I missed other installments, I found myself being able to pick up on the other's characteristics because they were just really well written. The whole book was well written; conversation flowed well, there was action (inside and outside the bedroom), and great references thrown in. Payton and Jayden's journey was a pleasure to read; it was funny, heartbreaking, sexy, endearing and entertaining. I can't wait for what is next for these friends and I will definitely be tuning in.

This series continues to be full of romance, suspense and an ensemble cast that makes you feel right at home. This installment features Peyton. She has been the quiet roommate, keeping to herself and silently crushing on Jayden. Her past holds her back, between guilt and shame she has difficulty interacting with others. When circumstances occur beyond her control, Jayden steps in. He too has baggage and has been attracted to Peyton and takes the opportunity to take care of her. The two have incredible chemistry. But the past does not stop interfering with their relationship. We get to see Hannah, Grayson, Beth, Braxton, Lennon, Jamison and Jackson throughout the story which gives the series great continuity and feeling of home. These friends are together through thick and thin. We also get to meet Colt who I think would be a great addition to this group!

Narrated by Lucy Rivers and Aiden Snow, this book could not have had a better performance. These two capture the emotions and fear as well as the passion between Peyton and Jayden keeping you intrigued through the entire book.

Sugar Sweet

Cute read. I like how all the stories in the series blend together well. I also like how any "dissonance" is resolved fairly quickly and the author doesn't drag it out for five chapters.

Anne Jolin has master the art of making you want to read her book even when you are not in the mood for reading. Her books will take you out of your slumber and awaken you from your sleep. I am falling more in love with this series with every book. They are no longer just characters they feel like old friends.

Keeping King is book 4 in the Rock Falls series. And here we see Peyton and Jayden fall more in love with each other. We learn what Peyton dark secret is and the reason for those nightmares she is having. Jayden we see a side of him we never seen before, and that behind that fun character of him he is actually concealing hurt and guild.

The relationship doesn't just happen and it take them a few tries before they finally have the guts not only to admit to themselves but also to each other that they have feeling for one another. But and yes there is a but, their love is tested. Tested in ways that will have you screaming at the book and praying oh God let this not be the end.

There is a happy ending, and it will have you going aww and yes the epilogue will have saying WTF...... Now Miss Jolin should just hurry up her little cute bud and finish book five. I need to know what is going to happen next.

Keeping King is a sweet love story and will have you routing for Peyton and leave you wanting to kick Jayden on his ass. If you looking for a fun read pick up Keeping King and fall in love with Rock Falls.

I give Keeping King 5 Stars

This was such a great intense story. We finally learn about Peyton’s past.
Both Jayden & Peyton have a lot of hidden hurt & baggage, with their broken pieces fit together?

Safety:
The heroine runs into the hero hanging out with an ex (OW). But that's really it for 'OW drama.' The hero is a player in the previous books, but his past isn't flaunted in this book.
