"The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden" by Jessica Sorensen presents readers with a blend of romance and intrigue, but unfortunately, it falls short in delivering the unexpected twists that could have elevated the story to greater heights. Set against a backdrop of haunting pasts and unexpected connections, this book promises a heartwarming yet dark exploration of love's healing power.

+ Loved the side characters.
+ Loved Callie's change after moving away from her hometown, her courage, patience and strength; that she did a lot of work on herself to try and overcome her trauma.
- It is often pointed out (in Kayden's pov) how innocent and sad Callie is and how he feels the need to protect her. It felt like he just wanted to be a savior.
- Kayden didn't have any development and although in the end of the book he started to fight back against the abuse, it felt ...misplaced?
- The plot was predictable and cliche.
- Did not like Kayden.

I think some of the conversations that happen fall a bit flat, and I feel that several times a character tells a joke that makes no sense.
I love the emotional aspects of this book, the sorrow and pain of the characters is well written.
