Thinking about history makes me wonder how I’ll fit into it one day, I guess. And you too. I kinda wish people still wrote like that. History, huh? Bet we could make some.

Adorable, fluffy, funny and to some degree hella relatable. The characters in this book were written with so much personality and soul, but I was sadly not that much of a fan of all the political stuff going on in this.

To be honest,
I read this because I wanted the kindle achievement 'Goodreads Choice Awards' bookmark... I personally love a good open door romance with lots of spice, so this surprised me to be closed door-esk. I skipped a bunch of the politics plot, I'm sorry, I know, but I wasn't interested. And I found out I don't love third person characters.

What I didn't skip was the conversations and emails between the two main characters, Alex and Henry. It was so cute and swoon worthy. I loved how the confusion of being queer was brought forward, the history of each characters discovery of being gay. "Straight people, he thinks, probably don’t spend this much time convincing themselves they’re straight."

So fun and witty and at times cheesy but mostly really sweet with beautiful character development. God, I wish this was our real history.

Edit: it's been a few weeks since I read this book and I'm still thinking about it and it's characters. I haven't read a book that I loved so much in a long time.

Ahhhhh this book was so stinkin cute!!!!! When I finished it I immediately wanted to read it all over again! I can't believe this is the author's first book! The plot, pacing, character development, and occasional smut is sooo well done. 100% the queer escapist book of my dreams.

Oh em gee so cute! Loved it! 3.5/5 because I hate the narcissistic but I'm hot so it's okay from Alex. It's insufferable. But darn the story is cute.
