Loved this one from Hades point of view!! I liked the god’s perspective of this book bc from Persephone’s point of view in the other book she was whiny and immature. I liked knowing what was going on with all of Hera and the other gods!

Ms. Scarlett St. Clair you did it again… i knew the ending obvi because of reading “A Touch of Ruin”, but like “A Game of Fate” i thoroughly enjoy seeing what Hades is doing on all his side quests while also pursuing and developing his relationship with Persephone. AND i love these “game of…” books because Hades is such a complex character (yes i know this is a god and i’m talking about A BOOK but the point still stands) and helps us really see who he is and what he does not always share with his realm for the greater good, who does experience a lot of the same issues the mortals do. I love seeing the unraveling of his emotions through these povs and how raw his emotions can be IF ONLY HE WOULD JUST TELL PERSEPHONE STRAIGHT UP! Also LOVE the other side characters, Hecate OBVIOUSLY!!! She’s the goddess of witchcraft like… come on now! And Hermes being Hades best friend just makes me giggle, especially when he refers to Hades as “Daddy Death”

I did read this in tandem with A Touch of Ruin, which I felt like enhanced the story overall. I think if I would have read this on its own, I would have rated this a bit lower. I really enjoy the story of Hades and Persephone across this series so far, and I’m excited for what comes next. I do find Hades POV to be the more compelling between the two. I just wish we got more than surface level emotional conversations both for their personal growth and the growth in their relationship. This is I think why I enjoyed reading these two in tandem, because I at least got more adventure and emotional outlook into a situation this way.
Moderate: Sexual content
Minor: Sexual assault and Torture
