This was a new extreme of awful. Many things about this book rubbed me the wrong way, especially the ml because he was just insufferable, as well as the fl. Honestly this book is just 2013 wattpad in a nutshell.

Not usually a fan of Mafia / gangster type books I did really enjoy this one and loved both the characters and their battles to overcome their demons and find love.
Danny Clark is a ruthless man, given a chance as a young boy and has been molded to care little for anyone else except his father.
Rose Cassidy is a survivor with a very traumatic past and she is taken as collateral damage by Danny in a game of power. She closed off to every emotion to allow herself to survive and Danny tests her time and time again but gets no reaction.
Danny can see Rose for who she is underneath the mask and he cannot help himself but be insanely attracted to her.
This is a dark and dangerous world they both exist in and I enjoyed their journey.
Angsty, deep and certainly lots of triggers for some readers but i found myself in love with the two characters much more than i imagined.
Will go onto read book 2 as its a 4 book series !!
