Prince Magnus Damora has defied his father. He travels to Limeros, hoping to reclaim a throne. Princess Cleoina Bellos has not been executed. Freed from the execution platform, she finds unlikely allies around her. Meanwhile, Jonas Agallon the Paelsian rebel is fighting for his life. But it is Lucia Damora who has the toughest decisions to make.

It's been a long time since I read book three. I'd forgotten a lot, but by midway through I managed to recall most of the necessary information. Manus reminds me of Will Herondale, pushing away those close to him with cruelty because he doesn't want to be hurt/hurt anyone. The first part of Frozen Tides had be hating Lucia, but later on she deviated from the blind path of revenge and began to seek right again. I respect her character a lot because she has gone through so much but is only a young girl.

Nothing is confirmed, but I have quite a few Crystal Storm theories. A lot of hints were dropped and it'll be interesting to see if I'm right about any of it. I think the mysterious Timotheus will play a key part in the next book. The Kindred have not been united yet, the four pieces in both malevolent and benevolent hands.

This interweaving of several perspectives reminded me of a TV show. Morgan Rhodes has not hesitated to use cliffhangers to draw back her readers or end chapters abruptly after a shocking revelation and/or event. There could've been a lot more action in the earlier parts of this book and it dragged along too much for my liking. No one's intentions are clear and everyone has hidden motives in the fourth book of Morgan Rhodes's Falling Kingdoms series.

4.5 Stars!

This was by far the best book in the series in my eyes. I felt the characters were really interesting, in some books I was bored of some POV's but in this I was genuinely curious as to what was going to happen next.
Of COURSE I can't deny that the romance between Magnus and Cleo made it more enjoyable as well, I waited so long to finally see it work and once it did I flipped out. Considering that, they're the only couple I actually like together, no one else really seems to interest me. Some romance feels thrown in, as if everyone needs to be romantically involved and if they are, their significant other is killed off and it creates a tragic backstory that fuels their hatred for another character.

Then there is Lucina...my goodness, I'm so curious what'll happen next! I'm really enjoying the audiobooks for this series and am really glad I picked them up (finished 4 of them this month alone ah! How awesome).

This is the first book I read in 2018, and it was so amazing!! I loved this book so much!! This is definitely my favorite book in the series so far. I love this series! There were more Magnus and Cleo moments in this book which made me so happy because they are my favorite characters in this series and I shipped them so hard since the second book :) I can't wait to read "Crystal Storm" next!

Magnus wasn’t any different than the king. He, too, was afraid of the princess.
Her spirit was so bright, he’d been blinded by it.
And yet, he’d never wanted to close his eyes to block out that light.

First of all, the cover is amazing. It was for this cover that I wanted to read this series.

I didn't expect Magnus and Cleo to just pick up from where they left off, but I also didn't think it would take them an entire book to come to terms with what happened. I'm so glad that it did though, it made it all the more better.

“I was a boy then, I didn’t know myself when I killed that guard. But I know myself now. You, too, know me now, Cleiona. Which means you can’t be surprised by the choice I’ve made.”

Tears stung her eyes and she faced the cliff’s edge. “Everything is a surprise to me when it comes to you, Magnus.”

They've got something very fragile, and I'm so scared.
Nic, why must you go ahead and bring back a bulldozer for a relationship that's barely begun??

She was his princess. No. She was his goddess. With her golden skin and golden hair. She was his light. His life. His everything.
He loved her more than anything else in this world.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure everyone lost it at this scene.
R.I.P

Spoiler“That,” Nic said, his voice raw and barely audible, “is Prince Ashur Cortas.”

Damn, damn damn damn. I knew it.
This makes me very happy, I missed him.

“Because if you don’t choose to fight against the wrong in the world, then you are the wrong in the world.”

Lucia's facing a completely different problem from what I had expected in the last book, but she's come so far and I'm finally growing to like her.

Lysandra didn't deserve that. But I can't wait to see what Felix and Jonas plan for Kyan.

Okay, I'm officially addicted to these books. There are so many twists and turns that I just didn't see coming! The plot never stops or slows down for a second. I honestly could not put this book down. The characters are so interesting and are really well developed. I've fallen in love with this series!

What I've Been Reading... will be a segment here on In Wonderland a few times a month. Or really, whenever I have a plethora of books that I want to share that I've read and give a quick review of. This is my way of doing a review without feeling the daunting/boring feel of it. Of course, every so often I will give a full review. But I don't want to get discouraged from my blog for *having* to write reviews.

What I've Been Reading Lately...

I didn't include the synopsis for this because it's book 4 and well, spoilers. But I loved this book. Lucia bothered me. But I think she bothered most people.

I also didn't include the synopsis for this because it's book 5 and spoilers, darling. This was probably my least favorite of the books... but for it being my least favorite.. I still gave it a solid 4 stars.. So, what does that tell you about this series?!

Again, no synopsis. Spoilers. However, if you haven't read this series yet.. what are you waiting for?! This is one of my favorite series of all time and has solidified Morgan Rhodes as a auto buy author for me! I enjoyed every word of this series! And just want to have discussions with all of you about them!!

This is by far the best book in the series! That ending! Are you kidding me?! So glad I don't have to wait for the next book to come out! I don't want to put any spoilers but I just have to say this book took me by surprise some things I saw coming but never expected to happen and others I never saw coming. Finally these books have lived up to the hype!
Side note.... always in books and in movies there is a moment where they are running for their lives but have enough time to stop and bang or make out and confess feelings and I'm always like "run you idiots do that later!!!!! *eye roll*"
Magnus... oh Magnus how did I come to love your character?! I just didn't see it you blindsided me.
Cleo actually turned into kind of a bad ass finally.
Lucia she redeemed herself in my eyes
Nic, oh sweet nic just admit it to yourself.
As for Jonas I feel so bad for him
But man the person who dies and the person who is alive just blows my mind! What a great read. Seriously the first books are rough and hard to get through but power through it! It's worth it!
