Nada que decir sobre la escritura de Zafón, simplemente magistral. El problema es que el desenlace es absurdo y me ha parecido todo muy difícil de entender, además detesto el tropos del pacto con el diablo. Así que nada, no voy a seguir con el último de la trilogía aunque para mi La sombra del viento es una obra maestra!

Daje mocne 4.90! Brak mi słow, to była fenomenalna powieść, przepięknie napisana! Troszke więcej akcji na początku i było by 5/5. Nie twierdze że początek był nudny, O NIE! Już nie mogę się doczekać kiedy zapomne akcje książki i będę mogła ją przeczytać od nowo!

Postanowione - nie spocznę, dopóki nie przeczytam wszystkiego, co wyszło spod pióra Zafóna. Ale coś czuję, że nawet po fakcie dokonanym moje myśli jeszcze przez długi czas będą krążyć po Barcelonie, a cykl Cmentarza Zapomnianych Książek nie stanie się dla mnie tym zapomnianym oraz pogrzebanym na cmentarzysku niepamięci.

A hauntingly gorgeous thriller set in Barcelona. If you were a fan of The Shadow of the Wind, this book is right up your alley. A bit slow to get into, despite being incredibly well written. However, once I hit page 100 I could not put it down.

I could not put this down, I found myself so drawn into the story. I found it simultaneously compelling, challenging (some serious debate/discussion about faith/religion/humanity happens) and so tragic, in that way where you know something bad is coming but can't tear yourself away. I have so many feelings about this book that I still need to sort out... wonder if starting the third book in the trilogy will help or just mess me up even more...

From the review at my blog: This story has several "haunted" houses, many shady characters, lots and lots of dead bodies, and those ever wonderful unexpected "jump out at you" moments. I loved it. Perfect for fall/ Halloween reading.

Fantastic. A prequel to Shadow of the Wind. This is the story of a writer commissioned to write a book for a mysterious Parisian publisher. However, in the course of writing the book he comes across some disturbing information about the previous owner of his newly purchased home. Loved it.
