This book bravely answers the question what if someone who never forgot anything told you everything he remembered.

Hvem skulle have troet en bog, uden plot fra 1975 om en homoseksuel mand fra USA kunne være så besnærende!!
Det bliver uden tvivl en af årets helt store oplevelser for mig.

One hundred sixty seven pages of memories, mostly one or two sentences, all beginning with the phrase, “I remember” making up this artist and writer’s memoir. So much harder to pull off than it seems like it would be. I love experimental formats like this. I previously read Édouard Levé’s Autoportrait, and admit I much preferred it, but this one was really interesting too.

Simple, yet compelling, even over 150-odd pages. This also functions as a memoir of sorts.

Very abstract and creative but ate it up and finished within the hour, very cool and thought provoking

Read for an assignment - I felt the innovative-for-the-time formula did not make up for the jarring descriptions of graphic sexual encounters and assault, largely anti-Black racist ideology, and ableist and fatphobic language.
Graphic: Racial slurs, Racism, Sexual assault, and Sexual content
Moderate: Ableism, Fatphobia, and Suicidal thoughts
