thank you to monica murphy and valentine pr for the chance to arc read!

When I requested this arc it was because I had been on a sports romance kick, and Monica was a familiar author. And I am so glad I did.

Once I got approved for the arc I decided to go ahead and read the first two books in this trilogy (these are all available on ku!!) and quickly found out that these were the kids of another couple in a previous series she had written. I am so glad for it because after this series I definitely am going to need more Monica Murphy in my life.

Ace Townsend is the typical player, hotshot football player who is pretty content to have a different woman every night. I mean hey, they’re coming to him! He doesn’t even have to try. He has a whole fan club of women jumping for the chance to get with him. What else could a 20 year old man want?

Ruby Maguire enters the picture and shit if she doesn’t lock that man down without him even realizing it. Ruby is who every girl wants to be but won’t admit it: the one that takes him from a player to a one woman man.

Ruby is intelligent and funny, and after she gets a job with the football team’s social media she is shoved into Ace’s space and they just can’t stay away from each other, with one major issue: Ruby signed a contract that states she can’t be “involved” with anyone on the team.

Playing to Win was such a fun romance with the man we all wanted in college, a fun, flirty, and sexy guy that only wants you and can’t get enough of you.

In the craze of sports romances right now, the Maguire trilogy is the PERFECT read. And Ace Townsend is arguably the most lovable man of the series. I mean that man was down for *anything*.

I cannot wait to go down the rabbit hole of Monica’s backlist and read the story of Owen Maguire and how we got the Maguire siblings.

4.25 stars and a definite read for my football romance lovers!

I absolutely adored this story. The characters were complex and well written. They definitely made me love following them on their journey. This story was swoony, angsty and so much fun to read. I love Monica's work and this was no exception. I can't wait for more from her and to see what she is working on next!

Thank you to Valentine PR for sending me an e-arc!

Read if you love:

✨Football Romance
✨Dual POV
✨College Romance
✨Forbidden Love
✨Forced Proximity

The last book in the Players Series revolves around Ace and Ruby. When Ruby joins the social media team for the football team, there are rules where she cannot date anyone on the football team. But Ace and Ruby have a strong connection with one another that, is the risk worth it?

I just want to say that I love Monica’s works and always adored her books. But for some reason, this one just did not hit the same. Ruby and Ace had no connection whatsoever. Almost all of their scenes together were sex and nothing really about their relationship. It seemed that they were falling in lust instead of falling in love. They did have their cute moments and funny banter moments but I think they wouldn’t last after they graduated college. I did enjoy seeing the other characters from other books included in this one.

Overall, I still love the series! It was an easy sports romance to get into if you are new to this genre.

“I'm in it to win you.”

Alright… fine, fine, you won me over (very easily might I add). I love Monica’s books and this book solidified my love for them. Ruby and Ace have my heart! He fell first, hard, and is the absolute sweetest. The way you could tell what they felt was genuine is what won me over. One thing I want to add is Ruby is such a great heroine, she didn’t settle for anything less than what she deserved. The way Ace changed too is so perfect. This series is just so good!!!

Like come on…
An obsessed and whipped man is my forever favorite.

Thank you Valentine PR for the Arc :)

“But there was something about the way Ace touched me. The way he looked at me.”

4⭐️ haven’t read sports romance in quite some time. i really like this series and all the characters.

forbidden trope? yes please

suprisingly, they were so mature and talked through their feelings and emotions, every situation possible, they were open with each other

I had a blast reading this book because it was so cute. I love the first two books in this series, and this one was no exception. Playing to Win was a cute romance with a handsome, flirtatious guy who can't get enough of you.

Ace was the typical hotshot quarterback who was cocky at first but quickly humbled by Ruby and he was whipped. Ruby was Knox and Blair's feisty younger sister, and she has her eyes set on him. She is smart and talented. It's impossible for them to stay away because of their amazing chemistry.

Overall, I had a great time with the characters in this trilogy. I'm sad that this series is coming to an end, and I really hope that they, the rest of the Maguires, and the Callahans will appear in more books in the future.

Thank you Valentine PR and Monica Murphy for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review

Why was Ruby acting like some of these vanilla ass kinks were dirty? Am I missing something here?
