Although this is the second book in a series it can certainly be read as a stand alone story without any problem as it really does focus on Fallon a nerdy girl and Zane "Saint" Andrews a music God who has many many fans.

Zane is hiding out in the seaside town that his friends live at in order to hide from the world, he also has his own personal demons that he is facing.

Fallon is walking with her friend when she is pushed over and loses her glasses. It is Zane that helps her and it sparks a connection with each other that ends up having Zane ask Fallon for help.

Fallow has a best friend who does thinks to help, but hakes her look a little clumsy sometimes, but has her heart in the right place and does help her with a makeover when she needs it.

Zane has a good group of friends that are there for him and support him when he needs it most, but it is ultimately
Fallon that helps him with the biggest and most difficult hurdle he has to climb.

I really enjoyed the feels that this book has and look forward to reading more from this author.

When RVD shocked us with this surprise release, I was thrilled. I became smitten with Zane in Capture and couldn’t wait to have his story. I was swept into this quirky romance from the first pages of the chance encounter between Fallon and Zane. My adoration continued to grow throughout the book. Zane is hilarious and his banter with Fallon were some of my favorite moments.

“You are seriously the most confusing and irritating person I’ve ever met.”
“You forgot sexy.”
“On purpose.”

While humor and fun is usually expected from RVD, I was pleasantly surprised at the emotional aspect as well. There is a side to Zane that took me by surprise and seeing his struggles made the story quite powerful. The balance of emotion and playfulness is perfect. RVD always seems to know how to make her readers laugh through intense moments

“…sometimes the ones we think are the strongest are the most frail.”

As with most RVD books, there is a strong supporting cast with a mixture of beloved faces from previous books and new characters. I adored Fallon’s parents immensely and they add humor and a deeper sense of love and connection of family that Zane so desperately needs. Keep can be read as a complete stand alone, but the epilogue sets up nicely for the next installment. If you are looking for a lighter read with that will make you smile and tug at your heart strings, I recommend giving Keep a try.

Rock Star meets Shy Nerd girl! This is the 2nd book in the Seaside Pictures series! We met Zane in Capture and I loved his character then and he intrigued me cause there just seemed to be something he was hiding. In Keep ...we see Zane hiding out in Seaside "working" on his album. Fallon is just a quiet local girl with no interest in the stars that sometimes reside in her town. Her BFF is a huge Fan of Zane "Saint" Andrews and is looking to see him. Zane and Fallon meet when Zane is trying to hide and get away from a group of fans. Fallon seems to intrigue him in a way no one has. You can tell Fallon is unsure of him, but Zane keeps insisting they spend time together. Fallon is the first person outside of his group of friends that does not want something from him cause of who he is. The more time Fallon spends with Zane she sees he has some underlying issues. I love the banter between the two of them and the protectiveness of Zane's friends. I love how Fallon and her parent's stand by Zane in even after his secrets come out. The banter made this book light and fun but we also see a subject matter talked about that is not spoken about too often. I love how RVD gets a subject out with a light way but lets you know that it's a real thing.

Sweetness

This story had a bit more edge to than the previous, Capture, but there is something endearing and real about this group of characters.

I'm not coming up with a headline

So like the first book you have a 19 year old and a 23 year old who fall instantly in love, but only realize it was love at first sight when they are analysing things a whopping three weeks later and realize they are so.in sync and know everything about each other that they've met their soulmate and marriage is inevitable. Honestly it's not their age that bothers me about this, it's their age coupled with the three to four week time frame. If their story took place over the course of a year or more of be like yeah, I'm in. They found their one. This, this is lust and falsehood of knowing the other person. You can't connect to that and get lost in the love story because there is no love story. Then there are inconsistencies that should have been caught like Fallon is wearing skinny jeans while Zane is performing and then magically she is in a skirt. Or her parents are well to do but she can't afford college. There is also the fact that they are apparently several movies in now, but it is still October, so they should just be starting the first movie, you know the movie that was the setting for book one. Th are are a number of instances where the time line jumps all over the place in when things were suppose to occur and how long it's been, sometimes with the same chapter or couple of paragraphs and the reader is left confused. Van Dyken also completely ignore the fact she time hopped ahead a few months in the epilogue at the end of book one. Consistency and respect for the time line is just really lacking.

Spoiler in this paragraph: and by the way, if you pro miss that you love someone and you won't leave them and that you are going to keep them and they have to keep you in this moving speech, when said person comes out of freaking brain surgery and say uh I don't remember you but I feel a connection and the doctor said the memory loss is remote and I'm working on it, you don't say, well it's been a week and you aren't exactly the person I fell in love with so I'm just going to go ahead and break up with you. Honestly I was done with Fallon right then and there. She really.is.a.horrible person. Jay should have found zane's cousin's number and made that call because Fallon really provenance was fair weather. And even though Fallon is the worst and shouldn't be with Zane, I'm what about her whole college plot point? Is that just totally off the table? She is giving up college to follow Zane? That is beyond pathetic.

Average at best. Sad, because I was really intrigued by Zane, but the story is sloppy and Fallon doesn't prove to be someone worthy that you can get behind and root for.

Had a hard time getting into this one. The characters just weren’t for me. Glasses as big as coke bottles? Living at home and working as a maid? Fallon was just a little too lame for me. And a little too cheesy.

This story started out funny to get you hooked, then every so often bits of seriousness leaked in. By the time you're 75% done you'll be in tears because of how fantastic the surprising turn of events comes about. Highly recommend this story even if you don't read the rest in this series.
