Incredibly well developed characters, couldn’t put it down ! Really enjoyed every minute of it. 4 stars because the climax was so anticlimactic. Really disappointed in the end being so quick and kind of boring with so much build up. Did give me some tears though

3/3.5 stars: This was my first Nora Roberts book and I thought her character development was fantastic. Especially for such a lengthy book-I wanted to stick with the characters and see how things worked out.

This book felt unnecessarily long-I think the Draper storyline that comes in later could easily have been shortened. I know that she writes the sections from Clint’s POV to show us how mean he is but I could have done without. The first part of the book was so exciting but it was over very quickly and into the next part.

This was heavy on landscape design so if you’re not interested in that...lol might want to pass. There are also quite a few descriptive abuse situations. I also found the ending to be highly predictable but was pleased she kept the final altercation brief.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book. The book starts where Zane and his sister are teenagers and live in a household with both physical and emotional abuse. The story covers from the time Zane is a teenager until he is an adult, returns home and meets Darby. This story goes from one unbelievable situation to another. I really enjoyed all of Zane's relationships with his aunt, sister and others but especially enjoyed Zane and Darby's relationship. I couldn't put this book down until I finished and I thought about it for days afterward. This book has everything. Suspense, Romance, Family.

I love Nora Roberts' books and this one will remain one of my favorites, I'm sure.

After a disappointing experience with another Nora Roberts book, I approached "Undercurrents" with caution and no expectations. Little did I know that the first part of the book would hit me like a ton of bricks. The vivid portrayal of domestic and child abuse left me emotionally raw - angry, tearful, and at times, ready to abandon the book altogether. The end of Part 1 brought some relief, but I was unsure whether to continue.

Despite its flaws - rushed storylines, forced plot points, and unnecessary drama - "Undercurrents" managed to captivate me. It's not a perfect book by any means, but what it lacks in polished storytelling, it makes up for with its characters. Two days after finishing, I find myself still thinking about Zane, Emily, Lee, Britt, and Darby. Their stories have lingered with me in a way I didn't expect.

While "Undercurrents" may not be Roberts' finest work, the characters' journeys and relationships elevate it beyond its shortcomings. It's a testament to Roberts' ability to create compelling individuals that, despite the book's issues, I'm rating it highly. If you can get past the intense opening and some narrative hiccups, you might find yourself as invested in these characters as I was.

Wow what a great read! Edge of your seat suspense at times. I didn't even think I was reading Nora Roberts there for a while. Loved the characters ...or hated them if they deserved it...just really enjoyed this one. I hope she writes more like this!

This book is one of the first books I've read for Nora Roberts. I am not sure if this is her style or not but I found it boring after the first part. Many dialogues were just repetitive and didn't make any sense to mention them again because well we already know what happened but apparently we need to read about it as they tell to each other what happened. The villains didn't have to show up all of them to attack our lovely couple every time they are together. I ended up skimming the last few pages because it wasn't interesting to me anymore. I am giving this book 3 start for the first part only.
