The third installment of the Flight and Glory series is military romance, roommates to lovers, opposites attracts romance. Grayson is stoic to the point of grumpy and Sam sunshiny and messy. They push each other out of their comfort zones, but give each a place to land. Grayson gives Sam the confidence to face her past while she opens him up and shows him that he cannot continue to live for others. There is a lot of push and pull throughout the novel, which gets frustrating, but it makes the story.

Not my favorite in this series. I didn't find these characters as likable as in the previous books and it felt like the story dragged for me. The major issue was lack of communication which irritates me, so this wasn't a good choice for me. Written well,  narrated very well.

This book took me forever to start.  Initially I liked Grey and Sam... however as the story went on it felt more and more like they were cheating.  His faithfulness to Grace for the last 5 years made it difficult to feel like he belonged to Sam.  It felt like Grey cheated on Sam with Grace and like he was cheating on Grace with Sam.  His sister Parker just pissed me off the entire book.  Sister or not Grey could have been better with his handling of her always butting in where she wasn't needed.  It ended in a HEA but sadly it wasn't my cup of tea.  I think this is the lowest I've rated any Rebecca Yarro's book.

DNF both characters had weak issues holding them back. The woman was taken advantage of by a professor. The guy was guilted into sitting by his comatose girlfriend for eternity. Nope.
