Break You was a refreshingly different story within the current bully romance trend. Xavier and Rocky have a hate/love relationship, emphasis on the hate, with a couple special twists at the end. The book was a quick read and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Wowza! This book went in a totally different direction than what I originally thought it was going to be, but it was a good surprise! Right off the bat Xavier and Rocky have this “love to hate you” vibe going on between them and there is an instant fire between them.
Both characters aren’t afraid to speak their minds and they can really go at it! Even though they swear they hate each other, it’s hard to miss the attraction between them and once they both acknowledge it, everything heats up from there.
The story was really interesting and had me on the edge of my seat at times, so good!!
If you love the enemies to lovers trope (like I do!!) then you’ll enjoy this book! =)
*I kindly received an ARC and this is my honest review.*

While this story began reasonably well for this trope, it eventually became totally annoying such that I ended up skimming the last couple of chapters. I think the coincidences that came up at the end pushed it over the top for me. What was different was this was a mixed race couple and the character of Rocky was a fairly strong one, thanks to a pretty tough life. I feel this could have been better but the last third of the book seemed rushed. Conflicts were suddenly resolved in a snap which doesn't seem terribly realistic. On top of that the epilogue is eight years later and I just don't think that's necessary.

It was an ok read, but it lacked something for me.
If you like an enemies to lovers full of steam book, with a secret society and bully romances, this one might be for you.
✍The plot
The book started off a bit slow and it took a few chapters to get into the action, but I was easily hooked into the storyline afterwards. I just kept on reading because I needed to find out what happened next.
But, on the downside, there were a few things that let me down a bit. First one being the secret society from this college - it was a little bit underdeveloped. Who they were? What they did? What were the advantages of being one of them? I felt like all this notions were kind of glossed over and they could have added depth to the action and characters.
The angst tho?
I liked the bullying part of this book. It was so different from what I've read and Xavier took bullying to another level, especially in the beggining.
Then, it felt like MMC and the MC got together so quickly and it was a bit of insta-love, or insta-lusty-love, even though we are told they knew each other for months. Which it didn't feel at all.
Also, the main conflict of the book was kind of odd. All was set in motion due to hatred, which seemed so deep, and then you resolve it all in like 10 minutes and it's all nice and dandy? Don't get me wrong, I am a sucker for angst, but it should feel realistic. Also, I believe in coincidences, but not so many. The coincidences in this book were too many and so streched that it felt so unrealistic to me.
✍ The characters
Let's start with Rocky, because she was the best of them. I really liked her, she was sassy, smart and so much fun to read. I loved her moral compass and how she wanted to strive and become the best she could.
Xavier, on the other hand, was on my meh list throughout this book. He was a jerk for the most part to Rocky, but then he became the good guy. I don't even understand how she could like him, apart from his looks. He had not so many qualities and his development wasn't quite a... development.
Them together? They had chemistry, that's for sure, and the scenes between them were steamy. But I felt like the relationship between them didn't evolve and they didn't develop. By the end of the book, to me it didn't seem like their relationship from the begginging was so much different.
The side characters were interesting, the most notable one being Rocky's friend, Kik, who was better developed. Xavier's friends on the other hand were just there to move the story forward, it felt like they had no personality and we didn't know much about them at all.
✍The romance
This for me was the tricky part, because I felt like there was no romance. Sure, sexual attraction, there was plenty of it between Rocky and Xavier.
But I didn't feel the development of their relationship and how they developed feelings for one another. It seemed rushed.
So this book was a hit and miss for me. Despite all the things I couldn't stop and point out, it was an enjoyable read.
Will I read the next book? I am not so sure about that, tho.

Omg this book was so addictive right from the very beginning. Xavier is a character you will love to hate and hate to love. He is an arrogant, self entitled jerk and Rocky and him are like oil and water.
They have so many secrets and lies between them their hate filled sex life is explosive. Everyone around them can see their chemistry but they both fight tooth and nail to keep each other at arms length. But their lives has been intertwined for so many years and they didn’t even know it.
Revenge might have brought them together but their love will keep them from falling apart. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat till the very end. You will fall in love with this love/hate story and their HEA.

Really enjoyed this book, loved the strong heroine Rocky who gives Xavier a run for his money! I'm really into my bully romance at the moment. This book had lots of twists and turns which i didn't see coming, so it kept me on the edge of my seat, i literally couldn't stop reading. The whole plot gripped me, i loved the chemistry between the main characters and we were introduced to some really good side characters who i'm hoping we get to read more about in future books. This is an enemy to lover romance, with some hot sex scenes, explosive chemistry, real characters and a plot that moves at a steady pace and keeps you turning the pages! Highly recommend

I really enjoyed this. Halfway through I really thought there was no way that they were going to get a happy ending.
So much happened and Xavier was an asshole... he knew it, she knew it, we all knew it... but I really thought he was going to go too far. I was on the fence with him but he won me over.
Rocky was great. Sge was strong and independent, she could handle herself and didn't take no ones shit, but still had a soft side. I really liked her.
It was a great book. And I just love the cover!!
