Lord Baltimore's adventures continue through Europe as he continues his search for vengeance. This collection is a bunch of smaller tales but they all illustrate the insane world populated with evil that Baltimore has to traverse. The art is perfect for the book. Even though these stories weren't all one congruent tale, they all lead to something bigger. Overall, a very good book in a fantastic series.

Nearly as good as Hellboy except that The stories have very little substance. The atmosphere, setting, and art are fantastic, but the content is sparce, which seems to be intentional.

This collection of three short stories deepens the world and characters of the Baltimore saga and introduces the sinister Inquisition, an order that seems more interested in punishing people than in fighting monsters. While Baltimore’s quest to find Haigus the vampire lord continues, its great to see the wider scope of this strange and bleak world where war, plague and vampires come together surprisingly well.

I had forgotten how good this series was given that I read the second volume over a year and a half ago but once again it managed to grip me from the moment I opened the book until the very last page. Here Baltimore continues his quest, hunting Haigus across Europe, battling other demons and monsters as he goes. The gore filled illustrations support and carry the story superbly well and satisfy the blood lust that Baltimore feels (and lets be honest us the readers are just as bad!). Looking forward to losing myself in volume 4!

Randomly picked this up and am so glad I did. I have not read any of Mignola's stuff in a while and this is as good as some of his better Hellboy material. Set in post-WW1 Europe, it has notes of H.P. Lovecraft in the guise of a vampire hunter story. It does not have the sarcastic humor of the Hellboy series, but makes up for it with an increase in weird monster horror. A much more serious affair, and worth a read. Really digging it and look forward to reading the rest of the series. The art is good as well, brining monsters to life in a simple but effective way.

Hot damn this is a good read!
Monster hunter Henry Baltimore travels around and kicks a whole lot of monster butt. The inquisitor is hot on his heels and I really hope they’re setting a confrontation in the next volume.

As gory and as cool as ‘Plague Ships’ & ‘The Curse Bell’
but better. The shorts really do well exploring who Lord Baltimore and some of the other characters are.
Nice to see Hodge again, not sure how far he goes in the saga but as now I like him as a sidekick/chronicler.
And again the atmosphere, aesthetics, art still spot on.
