Stopped at 14% lol I was listening to the audiobook. I found the suggestion on Reddit and man, gotta be careful who you get suggestions from because this book is terrible. I’m honestly so sick of the whole woman being sold as a bride thing. Riding 21 days naked, liiiiiiike… what?! I also don’t understand how there’s two readers in the audio version but each reader does the voices for both characters. Why isn’t the male reader doing all the male parts and the female doing the female parts no matter who’s POV it is. Lights Out and Butcher and Blackbird did a good job of this. It’s just weird to me.
Her little hands, her honey hair, her modesty blah blah blah. Waiting until she was just old enough to be sold to marriage. Are we really still writing like this in 2024?! I wish I could write a book bc they’d have none of these tropes. Ugh!

This is not how you write the bodyguard trope.
It’s like the author just took the top 5 most read tropes in the Romantasy genre and shoved them onto the first 10 pages. And it did not work!!
50% of this book is cringe. 50% gave me the ick. The SMELLING - just, NO. I wanted to DNF it so many times but saw so many good reviews I forced myself to finish it. Won’t be picking up any further books in this series.

EVIE! Why did you leave me like that?! I need more and cannot wait to get my reader friends to read this!
That cliffhanger will drive me crazy until the next one. I cannot wait for this series and I am so excited to find out how everyone evolves.
Sabine has lived in oppression all her life but she did not allow that to make her meek or a coward. All she craves is freedom. But after being sold as a wife to settle her fathers’ debts, she has her owns plans and ideas of what she wants and she knows that time is of the essence. She is not powerless. She is godkissed and she can communicate with animals.
Wolf Bowborn just wants to hunt. But his loyalty is his most valued trait so when his longtime friend and master Rian Valvere tasks him with the protection of his future wife on her way to his castle (naked, because archaic men), Wolf obeys. What he doesn’t expect is a beautiful spitfire with opinions and godkissed abilities that take him by surprise and tilt his perspective of what he has always thought.
Beautifully timed plot. The tension was built up but not drawn out. It also didn’t escalate too quickly where some authors move so fast it is hard to connect I was so invested in everything that was building.
Chaos, religious zealots, assassins, magic, and the spice!
