The Doghouse is a humorous, could be scary story for little listeners. The ending is very happy and it includes cake!

2015 storytime theme: dogs

Jan Thomas gets me every time with her bright colors, expressive animals, and humor that parents of toddlers can actually enjoy along with the kids. For me, not quite as good as "What Will Fat Cat Sit On?", but still, lots of fun, and great for a storybox.

Themes include animals, spooky, dogs, ducks, mice, cows. Also, I love Jan Thomas's humor.

Very cute and funny to read aloud dramatically. The terrifying doghouse is haunted by something that is eating all the animals on the farm. Or is it?

This is cute and I. Classic Jan Thomas fashion has an amusing twist.

Same characters you love from her other books and a really enjoyable ending.

Funny premise, and vivid illustrations but I think it needed more of a real beginning since it felt as if something was missing and it started in the middle of a story.
