Junji Ito is still one of my favourite horror mangakas. This short story collection was mind blowing and kept me entertained until the end.

Really liked 3/4 of the stories, "Slumber" was a miss for me. Thoroughly enjoyed the others.

This was my first Junji Ito book, and I must admit I expected more from it considering all the hype around him as a horror author.
Of the 4 stories in this collection, I'd most looked forward to the one set in Aokigahara (the "suicide forest") - it was the main sell of the book for me! - but in the end it was nothing like I expected, and fell a little flat.
I think my favourite overall was the final story, Slumber. It really had that horror movie feel to it, keeping you guessing with the twists and turns and keeping the creepy factor turned up to high right up to the final moment!
Though this collection didn't live up to my initial expectations, I'm definitely still intrigued enough to check out more of Ito's work in the future.

Stunning book. Amazing visuals and eerie stories that stick with you. I may be biased but Ito really is the master of horror manga.
