This had the right vibe but I rarely enjoy the books set in "exotic" (ick) locations fort obvious reasons. And really just no likeable characters here? I still enjoy the narrator though, so a quick listen.

'A Caribbean Affair ' plays on unfamiliar ground. When Miss Marple takes ill, she is sent off to a Carribbean island where she is supposed to be recuperating. Obviously she finds it way to boring and gets involved in a murder mystery. Since this is my first time actually reading and not just watching a Miss Marple story, I can't really compare it to anything. I was basically looking for an easy distraction from a long hard week and that is what I got. The storytelling was easy to follow and fast, nothing too complicated for my worn out brain to comprehend. I was a bit surprised by how feminist Miss Marple actually is and how she uses people's sexist and ageist assumptions about her to her own advantage. Though be warned, that there are some uncomfortable passages concerning racism.

A great, fast paced and fun mystery novel. The twist was good and overall I liked the story. It's easy to read and I love Agatha Christie's ability to write books that are such a joy to read. They take me out of a reading slump every single time.
I did guess at one time that it was Tim, but I also thought that it might've been Molly so it was still surprising. Also the twist made much more sense than the last book that I read from her.
It was enjoyable but I might take a break from her works since I've  been reading so much of her lately and they don't hit as hard as they did in the past.

I love And Then There Were None so I've been wanting to read more Christie.  This is the first Miss Marple book I read.  Honestly, I would recommend skipping this one.  It is problematic with its portrayal of certain characters and although the setting is gorgeous, the mystery was only okay.
