In Montana’s Glacier National Park, a little girl has disappeared with her dog. A multi-agency task force begins to search for the child. As the FBI digs deeper into the parents they begin to question if the child is missing or something more dreadful has occurred. Secrets are uncovered, questionable pasts revealed, and the nation waits for news.
Rick Mofina spins a very gripping story with twists to the story I did not expect. A great read and and very entertaining.

Had me hooked from the beginning and second-guessing all the way through

The story of a family that hikes deep into the mountains of Montana so that Mom can bury her ghosts. Not far into the book the 10-year-old daughter disappears. Is she lost? Is she dead? Was she abducted? The storytelling is gripping, so much so that even though the author tells you the story from different sides, you will still second-guess your conclusions. This was a great read, and I will be looking for more of Rick Mofina's books!

The story/plot was interesting - and evidently based on an actual event. The grammar and punctuation left a lot to be desired. I often found myself correcting the author's grammar and mentally rewriting his incomplete sentences instead of focusing on the story. It became less of an issue as I grew accustomed to (but not accepting of) the writing style and the story became more intense.

Pretty good book. I liked the story. There were a lot of characters which diluted from developing some of the main characters more. Also, the author seems to have some something against using contractions which got annoying after a while.

I listened on audible and the narration could have been much better. This narrator had difficulty differentiating between the female characters and child character. They all sounded the same.

This book grabbed me from the beginning. It was one if those that you thought you had it figured out, changed your mind, then changed it back again. While it was fairly predictable there were enough twists and turns for you to not notice it so much. I did not realize that this was part of a series, so obviously good as a stand alone.

After an argument between her mom and dad, Paige Baker goes missing in a remote camping area. Her mom had returned to the scene of her younger sister's death, which occurred many years ago, at the hands of convicted killer Isaiah Hood, who was scheduled to be executed that very week.

As local authorities and the FBI search for Paige, investigations into Emily and Doug Baker ensue, convincing at least some people that they may have had something to do with Paige's disappearance, and even that Emily was guilty of her sister's death, rather than Isaiah Hood.

Mofina has crafted a gripping tale of suspense, and the reader is truly unsure of the outcome until shortly before the ending. I found myself not wanting to put this down. It's a great good, and, in my opinion, very well written.

I’d give this a 3.85
When a young girl goes missing in the Rocky Mountains the job isn’t as simple as it seems. Was she really just lost or were her troubled parents go blame? Enjoyed it!
