it’s ok

The storyline was a little odd in that it was strictly just the relationships and disagreements between parents. I would have liked to see a plot line in addition the relationship, but it was fine. The characters were very juvenile…it was set in high school, but these characters seemed a little immature even for high school. I’m definitely not a fan of the FMC having a “favorite” in RH. I know it was kind of a joke, but they mentioned it throughout the book and it got old. Also not a fan of the FMC calling herself derogatory terms all the time because of the relationship.

Overall it was a good read, just a little immature for my taste. There were some basic spelling and grammar errors that could have been caught by an editor. The characters did a lot of “telling” the storyline instead of letting the writing tell the story.

They got together like 2 chapters in and the whole time she's was crying about not being deserving of them and then they spent their whole time trying to prove that they worthy enough for her.

There’s drama, but not enough to drive me off because there was enough interest for me to balance it. Her harem is four guys, so don’t start getting ideas about any of the others even if they’re interesting and clearly interested and Jane thinks they’re hot- the harem isn’t expanding. Husband says no more. And he’s the favourite. Somehow, that kinda works for this story, though normally I’d think having favourites would be a disaster.

I just finished reading the Wattpad version last night and I’m already itching for some more. I can’t wait to hold the paperback in my hands and add that beauty onto my shelf with the rest of my Janie Marie book collection. This is a reverse harem that can be read as a stand-alone book or in addition to the rest of the G&M realm. It does make some of the hinted lines easier to understand if you’ve read the other G&M books but it’s also very easy to follow along without previously reading the other books. Anyone who’s interested in seeing one girl with four men all trying to win her heart is going to love this book. It’s got all of the things to make you flush.

I’ve also read the Arc and now I have the published copy. Time to go read the fully published steamy beauty!

This was my first book by Janie Marie. This book is pretty much told by Jane. She is falling for 4 boys. Ryder, David, Tercero and Luc. David is her stepbrother, but she was falling for him before their parents got married. Ryder is David's enemy but Jane has always had a crush on him. Tercero and Luc are Ryder's brothers. Tercero is quiet, but good with Jane. Luc is older than the rest and is more mature than the others.

This book is told by Jane, with a few chapters told by David/Ryder. I really wanted to like this book. However as Jane was trying to figure out which guy she liked she kept calling herself a whore and hoe. Her mother also called her a whore at one point. The four guys just went a long with it and didn't correct her. That bothered me a lot. Also the bonus epilogue I was like what the fluff? I had a hard time reading this book. I really wanted to like it, but I guess this one just wasn't for me.

Reverse harem storys are my guilty pleasure but even that couldn't really save this book. That did keep me reading til the end though.

This is a bigger book then it needed to be. It either needed more and better sex scenes or more plot. It was a lot of the same conversations and insecurities over and over.

Also, there is a lot of slut shaming, joking and intentional. I'm not ok with that. I dont care if someone, man or woman, sleeps with several people at once or in a short amount of time, no need to slut shame.

I was expecting a lot from this but I was pretty frustrated. Jane was such a whiny girl and I didn’t found anything likable about her. I don’t know if it’s because I’m not used to read books in 3rd people anymore, but the fluidity was quite bad too.

I'm gonna to start by saying that this is a very lengthy book (over 500 pages.) It is very time consuming, so make sure you are prepared to invest much into it. While the main gist of the story is rather slow moving, there are plenty of happenings that take place. Definitely not a dull or boring story. Jane has fallen in love with more than one guy and now she has to choose between not one or two, but four men, who each hold a piece of her heart and have their own individual place in her life. Each guy is doing their best to win her over. There are lots of sweet and swoony moments. Plenty of sexy times (and oh yeah, all those sexy times are pretty steamy,) and some humor thrown into the mix. It's hard to explain the whole vibe of the book, because there are some darker elements (several which may be a trigger for sensitive readers,) but there is also a lightness about it. The boy's characters are fun to 'watch' especially when they are bantering with each other. The one bit that I didn't care for as much, is that Jane, while never having a boyfriends before all this, (though she had her eyes set on one particular boy,) seemed to be admired by pretty much every male that she came across. While she may have been beautiful, it seemed a little exaggerated how attracted everyone was to her. Her personality (while generally pleasant) didn't warrant such attention. (Not counting the boys in her harem.) As you may have guessed by the title, and despite being a High School romance, this is not PG. It is meant for mature readers.

*I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley.
