Really rich world building in this book. As an Indian American, I can definitely see the influences of Indian mythology and culture here and also love that the world is its own distinct place. So kudos to the author for that.

The book was definitely a slow start, and I don't say that as a criticism. I really enjoyed getting to know each of the siblings and hope their frames and memories of their parents shaped who and where they were. It made the middle of the story so much better because it was not just a quest but also a reunion of a splintered family.

Excited for the second book to come out this year.

Although the plot was okay and I enjoyed the history inspired magic and worldbuilding, I found the siblings all pretty unlikeable. Tried to soldier on but it wasn't for me!

Adored. I feel like fantasy and action/adventure fans will est this up. I certainly did. Interested to see how Ronak is going to get out of his mess though.

I really enjoyed this book!! So many YA fantasy books are focused on romantic relationships, it’s refreshing to have one in which the sibling relationships are the center. The world is vivid and rich and unique, the characters fully rounded, all with believable arcs and growth, there is romance but it’s secondary, and the writing is top-notch. Each of the 4 siblings had distinct voices and personalities. Kind of ended on a cliffhanger. I’m eager to read the next book!
