Overall good, but too many editing errors

The story premise is good. The journey from beginning to end was enjoyable. Unfortunately, the editing was poorly done. There are several places where there are words doubled, wrong pronouns used, and misspelled words.

I very much like Aster and Svagnar. They are both determined and strong, and their relationship had the space to grow from enemies to lovers.

The author provides content warnings concerning violence, language, and adult situations.

It is a fairly quick read. I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed this! I really liked Aster and how brave and loyal she was. I also liked how each chapter switched POV and how the chapter titles also alternated (Aster / Svagnar the [Blank]). I do wish the book was a little longer so we could've got more development with the characters and their relationship. I thought the main conflict got resolved too quickly and neatly which left me with the feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop, or however the saying goes. I will say though that I noticed a lot of typos and things like missing periods, and even one time where the wrong name was used. I know that indie authors don't have the resources that traditionally backed authors have but these errors stuck out to me, especially as this was published a few years ago now. But overall a quick, enjoyable read!

This should not of taken me 5 days to read, but I was just so tired all week and had to get up early on Friday for dose 1 of the COVID vax

ANYWAYS!! I enjoyed this... BUT I wish it had been edited better. The formatting was a little weird (space between paragraphs) and there was a lot of spelling errors (sometimes missing words or misused words).

Also I wish there was a pronunciation guide for the characters names.

I got this book for free from Voracious Readers Only in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book. I was wary because other books I've received from Voracious Readers Only have been a mixed bag but I couldn't put this book down. I'm not a huge fantasy reader but this book might make me more of one. I loved the relationship that blossomed between the main characters. The characters themselves were strong characters in their own ways but put them together and they complimented each other well.

I’d like to start by saying WOW! I did not expect to end up seriously enjoying this book as much as I did. I have got to say that this book contains some well-developed characters for a short fantasy book. I loved everything about them - their dialogue, the relationships (both platonic and romantic), as well as the inner workings of the characters and what makes them act as they do.
The main female lead -Aster- is headstrong and utterly determined, but she doesn’t come off as inherently rude for no reason or rash just for the sake to prove that she is a strong female lead.
The plot itself is simple, but executed in a way that made it so much fun to read.
If you’re a fan of steamy adult romances, then I would highly recommend this book. It has a good balance between fantasy and romance so that one does not strongly out way the other.
My only criticism would be that I wish I saw more action from Aster throughout the book rather than just at the beginning and at the end.
Overall, really enjoyed it.
