This book is so interesting! Especially seeing how modern traditions have been influenced by the ones that have come before.

Sometimes it felt more like reading a list of different folklore beliefs where some were more explores than others.

However, there are so many places I want to visit now to see and experience the folklore for myself.

Definite must read for any folklore enthusiast!

I really enjoyed reading this and loved how the folklore was categorised, however there wasn’t a whole lot of detail and I would have preferred some deeper analysis but for a small book it’s a great gateway into studying British folklore

Peak coffee table book. Short and snappy snippets of folklore that mean you can open any page and find something interesting to read, with cute little woodcut pictures to accompany many of the tales and superstitions. Yes there’s little detail and depth, but that’s not the purpose of this book.
