You know what I actually didn't enjoy this and I still can't place my finger on why exactly. Perhaps, reading two Nabokov's in a row is just not a good idea...

Marginally less disconcerting than Lolita (hardly an achievement), but no less elegant, and darkly hilarious to boot. All of the characters are despicable. It would've been better, maybe, if the cover of my edition hadn't entirely spoiled the ending.

I absolutely adore Nabokov's virtuotic use of language. It really has a sublime feel to it. The plot begins to intensify towards the ending of the book, which made me beg for a climax in the last pages - and I wasn't disappointed.
I was left wondering, how much of a metaphor the blindness actually was! Love is blind indeed.
