Had a feeling this one was going to annoy me and it found ways to do that. The revenge weight loss story is not usually one I would enjoy because of how crude it usually feels. It was really hard for me to enjoy the book and like the characters when I barely saw a change in them as the story progressed. It also felt like we were putting way too much in here at the same time with the student/teacher situation but barely gives a full conclusive end. Again it ended quite abruptly because of assumptions that felt so out of left field were “talked through” when the book ended. Just a strange one that made it difficult for me to get behind.

Thos series is so great and I love Tallulah and her character. She's got great perseverance and this story definitely opens your eyes to how your actions and words towards others can truly hurt. Surprising twist I was not expecting as well. Grab this book, you will not be disappointed.

I agree with a lot of the reviews below. I think Tallulah losing weight was for all the wrong reasons. She heard her crush laugh at her, so she did it to get revenge on him. It’s not a good message at all! But she doesn’t stick through too well. When she does go back to school, she follows none of her plans an instead falls for him almost right away. After being friendly with Asa, who still really needs his own book. Then the teacher thing. She isn’t a character winning any awards for me. I did not like her.
Nash makes up for her faults though. I think his comments on her is realistic. He’s always liked her. Selfish for not saying anything to her, but I also get it--high school kids are cruel. Although it’s not a good message for him to ignore her in fear of him being made fun of for dating the chubby girl, I do get the high school drama side of it. And the laughing at the comment was a misunderstanding. We’ve all done that. Zoned out and laughed at the convo because everyone else is. Can’t fault him there. But he took action now when she's “acceptable” I guess it is not great, but he is better than her. Redeemed himself a bit more.
Overall, with the plot and such, I enjoyed reading it; it was an okay book. I wasn’t a huge fan, but I also wasn’t thinking about DNFing it or anything. I was eager to finish and move onto other things.

Overall, I really enjoyed Losing the Field. It was a fun, quick read just like all of Abbi's books. However, some serious issues happened and I felt a lot of the resolutions were skimmed over and rushed into a page or two, where I felt it could have been a little fleshed out and given a true conclusion for the situations.
