My favorite so far. It immensely expands the Wizarding World, similar to the Goblet of Fire, and develops the character dynamics in a way that no other in the saga has done before. It also begins to connect the story of the previous books in a pleasant way, with some good payoff, and plant some interesting seeds for the future. Some good emotional moments with more mature themes.

Some spoilers here, but as the last chapter indicates:

"The Second War begins."

| Favorite Quote | “Things we lose have a way of coming back to us in the end, if not always in the way we expect.”

| My Review | Rereading a series from my childhood is always bitter-sweet. There is the fear that the rose-tinted lenses nostalgia often gives won't hold when I revisit the story. Thankfully, this story stands the test of time, and I love it just as much as I did as a child.

Sure, this book isn't without it's flaws, the biggest being the author herself and her harmful views. I often think about the Harry Potter series whenever the discussion about enjoying art from a hated creator comes around. As much as I try not to give any more of my money to this author, I can't help but love Harry Potter and the joy it gives me.

In the end, I find no harm in rereading books I'd purchased years ago, and pretend the author didn't write them. They tell a wonderful story I revisit time and time again. And for that, I give it 5 stars.

   P.S. I'm in Slytherin!

Vele jaren geleden gestopt na The Goblet of Fire zonder enige reden. Blij dat ik de draad weer opgepikt heb!
