If you love a contemporary cowboy romance with a decent dose of Christian content thrown in... Coming Home to Maverick is one worth checking out.

Now, I must admit I was a bit torn on this one at first. In the story, we meet Bailey as she is returning home with her daughter Gracie, after having left her ex-fiance Maverick at the altar six years earlier to pursue her dreams of singing. I loved the concept of this story and it did offer a great Christian message of forgiveness. However, I did find the forgiveness came exceptionally quickly in this story. I feel like it could have been a much more dynamic story had it been dug into more deeply. That could have easily made it a 4.5-5 star book for me. As it was, it still made it to a solid 3.5 stars. While I would have enjoyed getting more into that, there was something about these characters and their chemistry that I couldn't get enough of. Was it too easy? Maybe, but then is there anything wrong with that as an escape? I don't think so. The book had such a feeling of home and family to it, that I couldn't help but enjoy it. It was cozy, sweet and a delightful quick read.

I also enjoyed getting to know the rest of the family. The Dawson family is delightful, and I would love to see more from them in future books.

**I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher for consideration. All thoughts are 100% my own.

I really enjoyed this book! The themes, characters, and romance were well done, and I appreciate that the author didn’t make the characters perfect. They struggled with real issues and found God in real ways. My only gripe was with the writing. There were parts that felt rushed or underdeveloped. I think that was the reason it took me so long to finish. There were times when I felt a strong disconnect with the writing and setting. But when the writing was done well, it was done really well.

This was a sweet story filled with themes of redemption and re-connection. The setting is in small town Texas and the Ms. Summers makes you feel like you are right there in the ranch with Maverick and his family. The characters were relatable and although certain things from the story seemed to move a bit fast and felt unresolved at times it kept you wanting to read to find out how it was all going to end.

Maverick is the eldest son. His father has passed on and although he feels like he is half the man his father was, he is the one that is now the head of household and in charge of all the ranch affairs. He was left at the altar by Bailey, the love of his life and feels that betrayal deeply.

Bailey comes back to town after leaving Maverick at the altar but when she returns she is not the same girl that left. Now she has returned with a daughter, to give her a better life. She knows she has made some huge mistakes but she wanted to pursue her dreams and being young and naive she fell for a bogus deal and left town.

I did love the characters but at times I felt like I understood why Bailey left. Now mind you I do not agree with how she went about it but she was young and naive. She had not realized any of the dreams she had for herself. She should of definitely talked to Maverick about it instead of leaving him behind because I think he would of understood. Instead she fell deep into a toxic relationship where she was not only trying to realize her dream but trying to please Daniel her "agent". (insert eye roll) You will understand the eye roll when you read the story. He is something else.

I also feel like the rekindling of their relationship moved a bit too quick, making Maverick seem a bit immature when disagreements arise between him and Bailey and him and his family. He wants her to change but is not truly trusting that she will. He wants help with the ranch but doesn't give his brothers a chance. However things do turn out for the best.

I must say I am a sucker of children in stories and Gracie steals your heart in this one!! The relationship between her and Maverick is sweet. This is an enjoyable read and I am looking forward to reading the next installment and find out what happens to the next brother in the family!

A second chance love story.
My poor heart, i had so many emotions while reading this book. A story of forgiveness, redemption and God's love.
Bailey left six years ago on her wedding day leaving Maverick at the altar. Maverick has picked up the pieces of his broken heart and living the life as a rancher. But deep down he hasn't stopped loving Bailey. So when she returns six years later with no say he doesn't know what to do.
Same goes for Bailey, she’s back in her Texas hometown because she wants pa better life for her daughter. Bailey has made a mistake she feels she can't be forgiven for. Leaving town without word for six years trying to reach her dream but feeling like she failed for not reaching it.
Her family and friends are so sweet and forgiving. Everyone in this town except for one has welcomed her with open arms. I honestly expected Maverick to treat her differently, to be angry and not forgive her as easily but that's not the case.
I want myself a Maverick, he is such a sweetheart. I fell in love with his character.
I'm looking forward to reading more of her writing.
Thank you to Just Read Tours for sending me a free copy. This is my honest review.

Second chance romance? Check. Adorable cowboy/bull rider male lead? Check. An adorable book that lovers of contemporary romance, especially featuring cowboys, will enjoy? Double and triple check. Coming Home to Maverick was a sweet and clean romance that hit some components like a nail on the head. I'm a sucker for cowboys and Maverick fit the bill. I'm basically in love with that name now.

There were times Maverick felt so much more forgiving than I could imagine being in his shoes. But I assume that was the point since he was mirroring God's forgiveness of us. That's not to say he didn't struggle though. Being that he is human and not God, there were definitely moments that he felt his weakness of faith towards Bailey sticking around. The whole book I found myself yelling internally at Bailey to not break his heart again. A few moments of indecision on her part that made me wonder. Then he pulls a similar move that adds more tension. As usual, lack of communication causes so many issues. But Bailey's display of strength when she could have easily fallen apart and Maverick's love for a little girl that wasn't even his just won me over.

I saw at the end of the book that we're getting more Dawson brothers in future books and I definitely intend on reading some more.
