Skimmed the sex scenes. Not enough detail. Felt like the story was missing. Some plot and further explanation could have been used.

Interesting plot that was overshadowed by all the smut.

Sigh, it's 2 for 3 so far. I didn't like Bunny, I enjoyed Jack a lot, and this one is back to not liking. Both main characters are annoying just in different ways. That's a no from me.

This was exactly the fun and slightly bonkers romance I was looking for. Draco was such an a-hole grump LOL The idea behind the “spice” and Jo’s role in that was unique and I loved that readers weren’t just teased with the possibility of Draco’s double P and tail. Logistically I’m not sure how it all fits and works with a dragon, but I’m just going with it. I was introduced to Layla Fae’s books by a friend and they’re the perfect blend of sexy and hilarious. They truly have some of the most unique set ups I’ve ever encountered and I’m already looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

CW’s from the author: vengeful dragon, one life-threateningly klutzy heroine, Slavic folklore, Polish words and phrases (immediately explained in the same or next paragraph), Baba Jaga, consensually consumed food seasoned with the dragon’s essence (from peen 1 or peen 2, depending on the dish).
Steamy scenes will include mercenary handjobs, double penetration, prehensile tail fondling, fully shifted dragon mating, praise kink, breeding, knotting, monster peen, dragon jizz in multiple flavors.

A Grumpy Dragon Chef & His Klutzy Kitchen Assistant - It Was Heaven & It Was Hell

Great story! I really enjoyed how the author explored each character as they had so much depth. Draco is a sexy as sin grumpy chef & Joanne is his newly hired klutzy kitchen assistant.
Joanne is klutzy & Draco's dismissive, arrogant attitude doesn't help matters as he needs help that only Joanne can provide.
I really enjoyed following Draco & Joanne's relationship journey. There is plenty of magic in the air with double peen action.
Will Draco's pride prevent him from building a relationship with Joanne?
This is my first time reading Layla Fae & I look forward to reading the next book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

FMC: Joanne
MMC(s): Draco
Tropes: Monstrous equipment, grumpy/sunshine, fun with food
Perspective: Dual
Plot or character driven: Character
Spice level: 4.5
Burn speed: Fast
Can this be read as a stand-alone: First in a series.
Re-readability: Yes.

This has been happening to me recently where I keep thinking the books are shorter than they actually are because I have so much fun reading them.

Draco is no different. I feel like the author really shines when she gets to write monsters being monsters with monster bodies, and quite frankly, I am here for all of that.

However, this one gets a four from me because I couldn't quite connect to the characters, but I found the story enjoyable, the spicy to be spicy, and I like the hints of the deeper world we're getting in it.  I will absolutely read the rest of this series as it comes out.
