This was very much like Gone girl but for YA. AND HOLY COW IM SO IMPRESSED YET TERRIFIED. Its a brilliant book. Its so vivid and it was like a movie and these characters. Oh my god. I just have no words. Its insane. I loved it. I knew something was coming, but still THAT ENDING AND THAT GAAAADSFGHJK. Thats all.

It takes a special kind of book to be finished in one day, and damn is this book special.

The book is mean. Twisted. So maddeningly cruel to do that to a reader. The entirety of the book you try to figure out “who killed her???” “I bet it was Tate!” “Maybe it was Mel!”, but never once thinking “maybe it was Anna” that’s the cruel thing. I rooted for Anna the entire way through the book. I felt bad for her, my heart hurt for her, and I even had sympathy for her. My entire brain was controlled by the thought of who would convict a so completely innocent girl? It allowed me to concoct all my own theories of who murdered Elise. Till the last. 6. Damn. Pages.

This book is brilliant because it truly is different. No one makes the protagonist actually the antagonist by making the protagonists look like antagonists! I mean PURE GENIUS!

The entire way through I thought this book was a solid 4 maybe a 4.5, because I had really low expectations as to what the ending would be, thinking it would disappoint. I reiterated till the last. 6. Damn. Pages. Now I won’t lie I resent Tate and Elise for what they did to Anna, and made me sympathize Anna even MORE(before I knew she killed Elise of course).

Lastly the beauty of the necklace pendant. The first clue to the affair and the last clue to the murder. Perfection. Utter perfection.

Such a good read, saddled with a horrible cover. I know your not suppossed to judge a book and all that, but if this had not been mentioned in a review for girl on the train by one of my favorite good readers,I would have never picked it up. And what a great story i would have missed. It is a murder mystery told though shifting timelines from before and after a brutal murder during a high school spring break in aruba. This is my 1st Y/A thiller and it did not disapoint. Dont let the cheesy cover sway you, its a suspensful and gripping mystery. I only wish the author had other thillers i could read!

Friendships... Passions... Betrayals... and, a Murder.

This is one of those books that messes with your head in the best possible way.

Awesome!

Okay...

Spoiler The only reason I wasn't completely shocked by the twist, (and to be honest, somewhat saw it coming) is because I've read an Agatha Christie book that has a pretty similar ending.

I just have one word: ohmygoodness.

If yall know me personally, I have two major fear; lightning and heights. I need to amend that list and write down a third fear.

What is that you might ask?
This book.

What? WHAT? I feel like I know too much and I need to hide this book to protect myself. I rarely use this phrase but i was really, truly mindblown.

I have so many questions and thoughts running through my head. Still feeling very overwhelmed. Wow. I never expected that. I really didn't.

As I began reading, I trusted no one and kept repeating "It's always the one you least expect" in my head but here I am, still fooled yet shocked by it.

I was drawn to the story from the start and read it all in a day, which knowing me and my procrastination, it's really rare. The writing was phenomenal. I felt I was like those detectives you see on TV, reopening a case and reenacting the various scenes, in attempt to solve this puzzle. In the end, it left me more puzzled.

tldr: this book had me SHOOK, as the youths would say nowadays
