Jase and Sam moments were cute like when they stargazed, swam, spent time with siblings.
Book felt v long. A lot of the dialogue felt unnecessary. Family drama eg mum being a politician, didn’t interest me.

This book wasn't awful, but it was unbearably long and just plain boring. There was barely enough story for half the length, and so much pointless filler, it was at risk of obscuring the actual plot.

umm no. she never even tried to fix things with her ‘best friend’. and her best friend wasn’t even a good best friend. the sex scene was so weird and awkward. the fact that they only knew each other for a month and where wanting to have sex, no. she was all over in his life where he was barely in hers and then got offended? when he called her out of in. just no.

I loved that the ending was not THAT cheesy and that the book was such a quick read. It was a little boring in the middle but the end was really good!

This book was a nice and light book making me want summertime! I enjoyed it, but felt like even with some of the stuff that happened towards the end, it lacked depth. Sometimes I’m down with that though, so I was okay with it. I just wanted more substance to their relationship, but I think the author definitely portrayed a high school summer romance accurately!

Samantha, daughter of a divorced state senator with a trust fund, is fascinated by the family next door. The Garretts are loud and messy, and have 8 kids. Samantha spends her time secretly watching them as an escape from her own overly controlling mother. One day, Samantha is drawn into the Garretts' world by Jase Garrett, the boy her age. She becomes enchanted with the kids, and with Jas of course, and a romance blooms. Samantha's mother is wrapped up with "stepping up" her political campaign, and begins to make questionable decisions. When the Garretts' world colides with the political world, Samantha must decide where her loyalities lie.

This was a fairly typical teen romance, with some fun supporting characters thrown in (who can resist a toddler whose only [loud] word is BOOB?). It was an easy read, enjoyable but easily forgettable (although I do keep wondering how anyone could survive parenting 8 kids, even if they are adorable). Quick, enjoyable, and definitely recommended for my teenage daughters.

Well... I adored the Garretts. Their big family and craziness was so adorable. And Jase is amazing. So sweet. And I liked Samantha too. And Tim. ...But a lot of the book felt a bit disjointed to me. There were several issues that felt like they were trying to squeeze out the plot. It felt a little like a sex ed book at times--not that the ed wasn't well done (some of it super adorable--like, how does she make buying condoms into such a memorable scene?!), but that it became the point of the story for a little while. Then there was the teenage drug use issue--though that was also really well done, and probably the least invasive of all, but it still felt like it took over from the plot a tiny bit. Then there was all the politics that kind of oozed around everything and left dirty footprints wandering aimlessly, until it was everything. And that was a bit shocking. I did like the story, I was just confused for a lot of it what it was about. I still kind of am, but it was good. I'd probably even read more about them, if there were other books, which I don't know if there are, but...anyway...
