I LOVED this memoir. It felt so incredibly authentic and hard and real and scary. It's definitely not a happy story, but it felt like reading Ms. Field's journals. Truly fuck everyone who made her life so rough. I will definitely want to revisit this one. I think this would be really interesting to analyze from a PTSD and coping mechanisms. And note to self - this was one of the one where all of the annotations disappeared on the Kobo.

Picked this up on a whim since I needed a new audiobook and it was fine. It felt like Field focused so much on her early career that there was no time left to discuss any of her later career. Even Norma Rae, which gave her her first Oscar was barely discussed. This was a heavy read that covered a lot of hard topics, and I appreciate Field for not shying away from them, but it was hard to read about all the challenges of her life and few of the highlights.

I listened to the audiobook. It was great to hear Sally's biography in her own voice. It was a unflinching reflection on her life and the ups and downs of stardom. At times, it was deeply emotional and challenging to get through - I cried more than once! Her bravery in sharing her experiences with sexual abuse should be commended.

Once again a memoir I have to give 5⭐️ because I just feel like it was such an important story to be told ♥️ and the writing was also very well done. Everyone say thank you Sally!

I wasn’t really sure how to rate this book…it’s someone’s life. As someone who has had similar experiences, it allowed me to reflect and hear how someone else dealt with certain situations.

I have loved Sally Field for most of my life, and have long considered her to be one of my favorite actors. This glimpse into her life was raw, poignant, and beautifully human. I highly recommend the audiobook, read by Field, where her emotion and passion are on full display.
