A cute simple read. A hallmark movie channel story, hint  of drama and deep story but not quite there.

Jasmine has a big heart but with 2 older brothers, she can hold her own amongst other men. Whether it’s her fellow competitors in the internship she’s just begun at Malden Investments or the boss himself, Ed Malden, she doesn’t let men push her around. Along with her big heart (adorable opening scene with abandoned kittens she finds on her way to her first day at the internship), quick mind and self confidence, Jasmine is both warm and funny.

Ed Malden, on the other hand, has achieved what he wants most and, frankly, is bored. His involvement in the intern program is partly due to him fighting his boredom.

But then Jasmine appears.

This is a fun, well paced, boss and intern romance with enjoyable supporting characters. Jasmine is refreshing in wanting to prove herself on her own merit and valuing herself enough to work hard for what she wants - a position at the end of her internship. Ed was honestly not my favorite character but, once he’s away from his office, his more respectable personality appears.

Boss to the Rescue is the second book in the Billionaire Boss series and it’s Ed and Jasmine’s story. After reading the first book in the series, Boss on the Line (Grant and Mel’s story) I couldn’t wait for this one to become available. The characters are so likable in the series that you can’t help but love the books. The book was fast-paced, well-written, and had a fun storyline. While I enjoyed this book, I think Grant and Mel’s book was a lot funnier. If you are looking for a low-angst, cute and fun book, I recommend this book.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

(I received an ARC for this book)

The blurb sold me! The FMC shows up with a box of kittens on her first day at a new job? And her grumpy billionaire mogul boss is allergic to them? This fell perfectly into my sweet spot! Jasmine and Ed really had no reason to get along. But they had every reason to set a room on fire with their sexual tension! Ed is an asshole, with a capital A. Which meant he needed to charm both mine and Jasmine’s socks off. I think he did a pretty good job! It wasn’t just the way that he let Jasmine under his Asshole Armor. It was also his bond with his best friends. I loved all the moving parts that the friend group involved, and it very easily built interest in the connecting books. I shouldn’t have been surprised by that sweet, caring side of him, but I was. All Ed needed to do was see Jasmine outside of work, and he was done for. There was a true connection the second they were breathing the same air outside of work. He was ready to take a chance, he just needed to make the age old decision: was she worth risking everything for. Things with her were fun and refreshing, and that fascinated Ed. Things became comfortable between them…maybe too comfortable. He wanted one thing, she wanted another. The middle ground was right there in front of their faces…they just couldn’t see it. That declaration of love from left field?! I should have hated it, but it worked for their situation. I would have liked to see more of that “I can’t love you back” to “I love you so much” because that was a lot of growth for Ed!

My Favorite Quotes:
• “People might say I fell for you.”
• “You’re not a delicate flower. Exotic, yes. Colourful and bursting with life, yes. Strong and sensual, hell yes.”
• “What prize do you want?” “I want you on your hands and knees, with me fucking you from behind, and my hand tugging your hair back.”
• “You look fucking edible like that.”
• “I don’t think I can wear this shirt again. I can’t do it justice after seeing you in it.”

7/10 Dirty Birdy
4/10 Age Gap
8/10 The CEO Type
9/10 Workplace Romance
