If I could give the book 3.5 stars I would. I do not think it was a bad book, but not the best either. I really was interested to see who kidnapped Bailey. I ended up figuring out who did about mid way, and just had to wait for other pieces/details to be revealed.
I was hoping that there would be more closure at the end and that Bailey became the child she was, but guess the author wants you to assume this eventually takes place.
There many times mentioned the characters battle with God and how life deals us challenges to deal with. I can relate to this.

A book that is just average. And I must say, I am tired of reading books that are "just average." You would think it would take the talent to craft extraordinary stories to be published, but alas.
I found Blood Orange to be predictable in that the author sets the reader up to determine all of the important plot points and integral characters way in advance so that you see the story coming a mile away.
You hear this a lot, but the characters weren't likeable. I always take that with a grain of salt, but I am finding that liking a character is becoming increasingly important to me.
And then things happened in the book, and if you really weren't paying attention, you would miss it. The author has a too subtle way of "announcing" things.
I also thought that the character of Lexy, Dana's friend, was superfluous. Did we really need to read this story from her point of view as well? Considering her point of view wasn't at all interesting?
Overall, an okay read, but one that I've read many times before.

This book will tear at your heartstrings. It is also a book that is very hard to put down. I couldn't get enough of it. I always wanted to know what happened around the next turn.

It was very well written, but it just didn’t cut it for me. I wanted something that grabbed me, that had my heart in my throat, and this wasn’t it. It just wasn’t plausible, and I had the “who dun it ” part figured out in the 2 or 3rd chapter. I really wanted the advice on the back **Savor and linger over** to mean something, but each page left me wanting just that little bit more…why did she decide to have an affair nearly the minute she got of the plane? Where is the back-story on the reasons for that? If you like a legal drama and chic lit, you should gve this a try, but don’t get your hopes too high.

One where the description of the book is a lot better than the actual book itself. The writing was so disjointed. I found myself having to reread paragraphs several times for it to somewhat make sense. Also these huge things are happening to your family (abduction, solving a murder) and yet it's never really discussed or acknowledged. I have read more by this author that I enjoyed, I just found this to be flawed.

This was really a good book--I liked the ending as it wrapped things up without being too predictable or "pat". I will be looking for more from this author
