I was attracted to the cover of the book, and put it down. I really didn't want to read about a child abduction since I've had missing people in my family and their stories did not end positive. I was surprised when my mom had bought it, read it, and said I should read it before donating it to the Friends of the Library.

At times this book was hard to put down, but things didn't flow as well as I would have liked. There was a bit of jumpiness that I had to read a few paragraphs of the last chapter and the current chapter to make sure I didn't miss something.

Ms. Campbell does not have a "and they all lived happily ever after" ending, however, it is a realistic ending. One where you know the characters are going down the right path and not really any loose ends.

This book has been on my shelf for several years. Not even real sure where I got it. I decided to pick it up as I’m trying to purge excess things. What a wonderful surprise! It reads like a John Grisham type mystery, and delves into marital woes, parental missteps, and struggling to see others like God does. Recommend.

No flow. Story all over the place. Couldn't relate to characters at all.

While a daughter being kidnapped seems like a really big deal - the story revolves more around the relational turmoil in the family in and around the incident.

I read this in one day. The lack of communication in the couple's relationship frustrated me, but made for a better story. The main character's dishonesty caused me to lose sympathy for her. But, as in real life, we are all multi faceted human beings. The juxtaposition of the two stories kept my interest. I am not a religious person at all, but I actually appreciated the conflict the priest was having over forgiveness. I found this entertaining and somewhat thought provoking, and it would make a great airplane read.

My kids have been watching a lot of TV lately while I lie around reading and nursing a terrible cold.

I read this one because I found it at a thrift shop for $1. Didn't hate it, but didn't love it either. Despite having some pretty heavy topics (child abduction, adultery, others that will give away pot twists if I list them here), I put this firmly in the category of Fluff. Decent Fluff read, although a bit predictable (I figured out who had taken the kid pretty early on) and implausible. (Now that I've typed that - aren't all a Fluff Books a bit predictable and implausible, though?)

It was a relief to read this book. I think the last few books I have read have been duds, but this book was hard to put down. It is about a little girl who is kidnapped and it is about marriage and relationships. And it includes a female priest.
