Starting out the book, I found Eleanor’s perspective delightfully charming. It was easy to be empathetic towards her. The audiobook narrator captured the quirkiness of the characters very well. As the book evolved, learning more about Eleanor and the tragedy of her life, made you love her even more. This is a fantastic book that is both funny and lighthearted while at times also sad, motivating, and profound. The fact that I had so many emotions while reading show just how moving this book is. I loved it.

I really enjoyed slowly learning about Eleanor and her story. To begin with I found her to be confusing and annoying, she seemed both too old and too young to be 30. As the story unfolded it became apparent why this was the case. Overall all it was a good book, with an unexpected twist at the end.

Elizabeth Oliphant is Completely Fine is a true “weird girl” story in a way that really made me fall in love with it. I love Elizabeth’s voice as a narrator - so unique & so her. I also love the lessons that the book teaches us when it comes to dealing with loneliness, building a community with those around you, and finding joy in the little things.

It’s not a perfect book by any means. For one, it’s a book where not much happens. Usually, I don’t mind that, but I would often put the book down for long periods of time because it would bore me a bit. But I stuck with it because I really wanted to know what would happen next. Also, the ending left me feeling a bit unsatisfied as a reader. I don’t mind that it left things a bit open-ended - I think it makes sense for this story - but I feel like Elizabeth had really serious trauma to work through that didn’t feel like it could be wrapped up that quickly. The ending felt a bit rushed, honestly!

I loved the main character and related a lot to the way she saw the world and some of her interpersonal experiences. She was peculiar in ways that alienated her from people, perhaps resulting from a mix of neurodivergence and trauma that she has experienced. The ending/little unexpected twists at the end felt rushed and out of place compared to the tone of the rest of the book. And her development felt a little fast and unrealistic BUT I laughed out loud so many times at her musings, and felt proud of her by the end. Though it was a simple story and easy read, twas an evocative one for me, so I’ll rate it highly! But only recommend it to my autistic friends lol

Read it when I was in my early teens and I adored it. The way it handles trauma and child abuse was mind-blowin  to baby me. The relationship between Eleanor and Raymond is so cute. So is the cat.
