I really like this version of Ms. Marvel, but this storyline wasn't my favorite.

While I love Ms. Marvel as a series and as a concept, this storyline, about the Inventor exploiting his teenage followers and Wolverine helping out Kamala, fell a little flat for me. Kamala is still great, but after setting up her personality and situation in the first volume, the focus on her actual superheroing here could have been stronger.

Lockjaw is ADORABLE. Who doesn't love a giant teleporting dog?

I like this run a lot but I do have some ✨issues✨. I'm not a fan of this art style at all but mostly the coloring is just ehhh. It's very muddy looking with the colors dimmed and after looking at the nice covers on the individual issues, I'm even more disappointed. It's just so ugly at times and sometimes people look weird as shit.

I loved the issue where Wolverine shows up and they work together. It was so funny and the highlight for me. Lockjaw being sent by Medusa to guide Kamala about how she is an Inhuman was also great.

Then we deal with the Inventor- the bird bad guy who is using teenagers as batteries. There is a lot to be said about this plotline because true, it wasn't the younger generation who fucked up the planet but oh my god her entire long ass speech. She just kept going and it felt so cheesy and too on the nose like damn. It's not giving what it wanted to give but that's just me.

Also I hate that the bad guy is a full ass bird for no reason like... okay.

An Amazing Well Written Comic

I choose the rating because I loved the ideas/themes presented in the comic. The ideas were relevant, the way those ideas worked into the story made the comic a read that I truly enjoyed. The comic had many quotes I loved and the art is pretty awesome. Also, I am enjoying Kamala Khan’s character so much. We explore a lot with other characters and there is something really unique and fun about this comic series ( is that what it is called) overall.

After reading this second volume, I can't help wishing that this series had been out when I was still a teen. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore Kamala right now and I'm well past my teen years. I just keep imagining how much earlier I would have found the world of comics if only things I could relate to were out there! I've never been a huge superhero fan. The physics-defying outfits that female heroes were put into just pushed me away. Kamala though? She's sweet, she's slightly accident prone, and she fan-girls like all the rest of us. What's not to love?

That being said, this second volume is great! More of what I loved in the first, plus a lot more action going on. I can't get over how many times I giggle while reading these. The creators of this amazing series have managed to pack the whole shebang into one volume. You have adorable Kamala, fan-girling over meeting her favorite X-Men member. You have a message to teens that, despite what they may hear, they've got a lot of importance riding on their shoulders. That they are the future. You also have Kamala trying desperately to make her superhero life and her "normal" life mesh. It seems like a lot, but it works beautifully.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. This series is well worth your time! Whether you go into it because you love the Marvel Universe, or to experience the absolutely stunning artwork, or simply because you want to see a person of color as a fabulous main character, pick this up! You won't regret it.

Like the previous comics, I really enjoyed this one. I love Ms. Marvel's Universe. I wish I had powers too. It's easy to project ourselves into a different world when we read these comics. I can't wait to buy the next book.

I really enjoy how different this book is and the risks that it takes. Kamala is a great role model and excellent character overall. I love her humor and especially her doubts. But she's also hopeful and emotional, much like any teenager.
However, I didn't like the villain at all. I really hated that damn bird. But I felt that his plans fit the tone really well. I'm really excited to see Kamala grow as a person and as a hero, I've no doubt that she will be around for quite some time.

RecommendEd!!

3.5 stars! Once again another cute volume of the Ms. Marvel series. The bird guy was really strange but I have a feeling his story isn't over. I'm really interested in learning about the origins of Kamala and her family based on some statements that were made in this volume. I also liked the introduction of Wolverine and Lockjaw (he's so cute to be so big). I'll be checking it out from the library once again.
