I think everyone should read this. So well written, supported by a lot of research (the author has a PhD in social psychology) and so intersectional and beautiful

No book has put its hand in my brain and scrambled it around in such a good way like this book has.

I felt that this would have been very well representative to me, but for the pressure about genders and sexuality.  I felt that the author looks down on people of faith and categorizes us all as “hateful” and “manipulative.”  That is an unfortunate and unfair bias.

I agree there are problems in the legal system, but I disagree with the politics behind defunding the police.  A crime committed by an autistic person or a person of color is not LESS harmful because of their disability or their background.  I say that as an autistic person of faith with a multiracial family.

Regardless of religious and political differences, where the topic of autism and masking came up it was informative.

This book has helped me immeasurably. It taught me new and deeper ways of unmasking with the help of what felt like a parasocial relationship with autistic community via the extensive interviews and sources used in the book. It doesn't give you any copout answers; Dr Price lays out the small thing autistic folk like me can do for ourselves but more significantly, the systemic changes we must fight for if the world is to be safe, free and joyful for everyone.
