This is a beautiful story about two young men who meet on the day they know they are going to die.  They help each other to grow as people.  It's sad but heartwarming to feel how they do knowing that it's the last day they have so they might as well spend it in positive ways

Really loved this book!! I cried way more than I was expecting, but I really enjoyed it. I thought it was very reflective, and joyous, and full of heart. The structure was really fun, I really loved getting multiple perspectives and the layout of the book. Very good read.

First things first: Silvera has a major talent for characterization. Everyone in this book is now my best friend. The set up of this book is exactly like There There by Tommy Orange. The multi pov isn't my favorite, and I could have done without it. The bright side is that it led us into the worldbuilding aspects and how this construct affects society through individual experiences.  The ending annoyed me though. It did make me shed a tear. Some subplots were just completely unnecessary though. It was okay.

Did I know what was going to happen and when it was going to happen? Yes. Did I still manage to cry? Also, yes.

I’m not personally a huge fan of “we fell in love in less than a day”, but it was still really cute. Mateo and Rufus were both really easy characters to enjoy, and I wish we would’ve gotten more time getting to be with them.

I loved a lot of the secondary characters too (namely the Plutos and Lidia), but I think that, even though it connected to Mateo’s and Rufus’ stories, a lot of the other perspectives were a bit distracting. I had to page through to remember characters who were only mentioned one other time in passing. It’s a REALLY cool concept, but I just have mixed feelings on it.
