I really loved this book, and the reason I gave it only 4 stars is because I wish we would of got more of Bailey in this story. I feel like we got cheated a little not getting her whole story. I would of loved to know more about her road and illness.

Oh my poor little ravaged heart- this story ripped it apart and glued it back together again. What an epic conclusion to this angst, unexpectedly moving, deeply emotional duet. I feel both gutted and rejuvenated all at once- only M. Robinson has the power to punch me so sharply with an emotional avalanche.

This review will be a bit vague because I don’t want to spoil anyone on book one or book 2- but know this, the first book in this duet wasn’t at all what I thought it was going to be- but I was hooked. I wanted to know and understand these complex parallel stories- figure out the heart of poor broken Aiden, climb inside Bailey to understand here, protect sweet Cami- and then that ending- I needed answers, I needed hope.

I rarely cry in books- but this one had me ugly crying, multiple times. That is how deeply Monica had me feeling for these characters- how absorbed I was in their hope, their pain, their tensions. What I loved about this duet is that this wasn’t just words I read, someone else’s story I enjoyed- i EXPERIENCED this book. Deep in my soul- down to my center of my beating heart. These characters, their intriguing and complex journey, the bittersweet nature of the love between them, it drew me in and held me captive- I felt every smile, every kiss, every tear, as if they were my own.

Monica’s writing is so accessible- so inviting- this story feels so intimate, the words have their own heartbeat. The way she wove this narrative was so clever- so captivating- we’re both in the thick of it and can never fully understand, because we don’t have all the pieces. But, when we finally get the whole picture- my heart fell out of my chest, breathless turning pages. What an epic conclusion- and the epilogue is just so delightful- a sweet and charming reward after this emotional rollercoaster. My tears weren’t yet dry before I added happy ones on top.

M. Robinson is the queen of angsty and emotionally turbulent love stories- but it is clear to me that she understands love better than many. Her stories depict how love is not a fairytale- it is complex and complicated, full of contradictions and challenge, winding and jagged path, but that when you find it- find the person that calls to your soul, there is nothing more powerful, more consuming. She always delivers all the epicness of romance but gives us the real, the gritty, the nuanced and raw journey it takes to get there. Grab your Kleenex and some wine- you’ll need it.

Bailey is the deceased wife. Aiden the husband and doctor who lost the love of his life. Camila is the hired nanny/ help.

Aiden’s connection with Camila becomes more apparent and the kids are really starting to welcome her. She live in with them and they really become a family unit. This is fast pace, but pieces everything together.

I am conflicted about this book.
The writing is good, interaction with the Hero's kids etc but I am adverse to a Hero who is hung up on an ex troupe.
I think the problem is the reader can feel as though the current heroine is second choice and the author dies address this and tries hard to make the current heroine his 'one' but i feel you will always get mixed opinions.
The heroines background is rough, her ex etc and I wasn't keen on the gang speech.
The coincidences at the end felt a bit contrived and the attitude to the previous Mrs by the Hero was a bit bizarre.
HEA.
Epilogue.
Secondary characters, ending leads to the possibility of another book the author says will be out in the summer.

Well I was certainly not expecting some of the things, but this duet will have your emotions, it was more than what I expected and definately a story to remember. The named queen of angst had me on edge and took my breath away with this conclusion.

I really enjoyed Choosing You. Honestly Monica never disappoints, I have yet to read a book of hers that I don’t like! I found it fitting that Faith restored Aiden’s faith in God and she comes back and puts his family back together. Really beautiful story.

Beautifully Written

So since this duet was more love story than romance the first book started a little slow and then picked up steam.

When I hit then cliffhanger I actually went WHAT? Because it was confusing. I immediately opened this one and read into the first chapter to clear my head lol

This one was interesting following the bread crumbs of “where’s Bailey?” And leaving how Aiden and Bailey’s path intertwined with Cami’s.

And I LOVE Dante! He’s so feisty and fun!

And the cliffhanger on the epilogue was HILARIOUS! Any wait to dive into Jackson and Harley’s story to see how the cliffhanger plays out!
