i immediately love sophie's character the second i met her! i love her strength and her resilience especially with her unfair situation. she stayed true to herself and her morals and i love that! she’s just a girl that wants to be loved and to have a family that loves her. i’m so glad she found that with the bridgertons <3 found family fr

anyways sophiebenedict - love their playful banter and how they can be themselves with each other

[ i love a protective man but idk benedict's brash insistence for sophie to be his mistress gave me the ick like i understand that he was worried for her to be out in the world alone but she can clearly take care of herself. anyways benedict basically commanding sophie to stay with him rubbed me the wrong way (hide spoiler)]

still loved sophiebenedict and how they love each other as well as how their love story played out. however, i am disappointed that i didn't completely love this book especially with how i was annoyed with benedict sometimes but we move.

still very excited for bridgerton season four !! finally getting my asian cinderella story with my girl sophie !!!!

benedict was not slaying with a few things he said but was redemptive at the end so slayy ig

A Cinderella retelling, wildest dreams by taylor swift vibes. Favorite book on this series.

I decided to read this book before season 4 of the Netflix show arrives. I love to see the emotions depicted through words in books, and so I can see how the actors bring them to life.

One thing I was surprised about (because I watched the Netflix show first) was the absence of interactions between other characters of the ton, (Lady Danbury, Queen Charlotte, etc.) though it didn't take away from the enjoyment of the story. As Cinderella plot being my favorite plots/stories of all time, I really enjoyed this book, and I cannot wait for season 4.

I like the Bridgerton netflix show so I decided to give this book a chance while waiting for season 4.

but I think I enjoy the show more. I just like how a lot of plot point are weave into the show while the book is very chronological and straightforward. one story at a time. well it was the case for this book. I’m not sure about the others.

then again it wasn’t entirely bad.

i feel like each of these gets worse than the last, i shouldn’t be surprised but i am disappointed

this one is cinderella coded but i found sophie not nearly as pissed as she should be. it was giving blameless heroine who everyone hates for absolutely no reason forgives everyone even though they were all evil to her. Benedict was at least not a copy paste of the last two male leads but I did find him to be insufferable and not in a cute way. they barely even talk about his art!! and sophie should have had a lot more to say about the way servants are treated and class boundaries being nonsense. idk i know im asking too much of a romance novel but ugh

After reading this, I realised why the series is taking different approach from the book. Apart from fictional take to the history - the ton, the style, the fashion, the culture of 17th century or Regency period and the  posh english, nothing else seems creative or interesting in the book, and definitely not love. And yeah each time  the book had food, i couldn’t stop but be hungry and craving even though I am not found of it. And how many rich brats does it take to bring a better personality?
